Hey friends, Ryan Dohrn here, your friendly neighborhood sales coach. And here comes your sales training tip of the week. During times of economic uncertainty, guess what you need to do? Step up your game. When things are rough, whether it was '06, '07, '08, remember that, the Great Recession? Whether it was the midst of COVID or now we're potentially in some pretty uncertain economic times, if you want to get through it in sales, you got to step up your activity. See, the common thought is, oh man, the sky is falling. I'm just going to— I'm— Let me just lay back a little bit, see how this is all going to play out. Bad advice. If someone tells you that, tell them they're crazy. This is a time for you to get your LinkedIn profile to rockstar status. This is a time for you to get out in front of folks. This is a time for you to have more meetings. This is a time for you to pick up the phone, book more Zoom meetings. But let's talk about LinkedIn for a second. See, some of you, your LinkedIn profile looks like a resume. I mean, are you trying to find a job? I mean, maybe you are. Your LinkedIn profile should be a bit of a window, a porthole if you will, into who you are. Remember now, the vast majority of folks before they have a meeting with you are going to look you up on LinkedIn. Hey, look me up on LinkedIn. Are we connected on LinkedIn? I'll accept almost every connection from almost everybody. When you think about being connected on LinkedIn, what does it mean? It means that you're giving your information to them and they give you connections as well. But if your LinkedIn profile has got a picture from your high school prom, probably not accurate. I met a guy the other day, he's now bald. You should see his picture on LinkedIn, he's got a full mustache and a full head of hair that's dark. I think that picture was from a long time ago. When you think about your profile on LinkedIn, it should talk about who you are. I'm Ryan Dohrn, I love my job, I love '80s movies, I love good coffee, I love great rock and roll music from the '80s and the '90s. Think Things like that that help people understand, hey, you're a real person too. Now you want to follow all your customers on LinkedIn, like and comment the things they place on LinkedIn or the appropriate social media channels. Follow their company on LinkedIn, like and share and comment on those things as well. Whatever you can do to step up your activity during times of economic uncertainty, friends, that separates the pups from the pack. That's right. From the big dogs out there in sales land. Hey, love to come talk at your national sales meeting. I speak anywhere 6, 8 times a month. Love to fly in and make that happen. I know airline prices are expensive, but we'll figure it out. And don't forget, get a copy of Selling Forward for you and for your sales team. Net proceeds all go to help the Golden Harvest Food Bank. All right. For how I can help you, reach out to me over at ryandohrn.com. All right, friends, we'll see you next week.
