Video Tools in Sales | Ryan Dohrn - Q&A Sales Training Tips and Sales Advice

Ryan Dohrn recommends Loom and Soapbox for sales videos. Loom records your screen with your face in a corner and offers password-protected sharing. Soapbox lets you overlay your head-shot next to PowerPoint slides. Both have free tiers but need paid plans for serious use.
Chapters
Hey friends, Ryan Dohrn here, your Global Sales Coach, and we are answering your listener questions. Thanks for sending them in to ryan@ryandohrn.com. And then we also feature a bunch of them with my friend Mike Obert from Open Look Business Solutions over on the podcast as well. Spotify, iTunes, look up Ryan Dohrn, D-O-H-R-N, you'll find all the podcasts I do there. All right, great question coming in from Tommy. Hi, Ryan. I thought it was Tammy. Tommy from Idaho. Ryan, you talk about video quite a bit on the podcast, etc., and I'd love some of your recommendations on tools from a video perspective in the sales process. Tommy from Idaho, love to answer that question for you. Now, again, friends, they're just like headsets. We talked about those last week. There are so many video tools that are out there. Share some of those that you use that you love down in the comments. Down below on all these videos that we produce out there. All right, there are 2 main tools that I use. I like the tool Loom, L-O-O-M. It's a Chrome extension. I love the ability to be able to record my screen. It takes my head, puts it in kind of the bottom corner, that kind of thing. It allows me to be able to store that online and share it really easily, password protected and things like that. So, and you can, I believe you can store maybe 5 meg or something or something like that for free before you have to pay for it. I pay for it and I think it's very much worth the cost. So Loom, L-O-O-M, check out their websites for the specs because I'm sure that I got it wrong. All right, the other tool that I use a lot specifically when I'm recording presentations is Soapbox, just like it sounds, S-O-A-P-Box, and that will come with the Wistia toolset. Soapbox allows you to put up your head and then your PowerPoint or whatever in a really nice format. So it's going to put your head in a square, it's going to help you line that up, And then it's going to put the PowerPoints in the other part of the screen. Again, the ability to edit those things, uh, put some callouts at the end. I think both of those tools have Chrome extensions, Loom and Soapbox, and both of them have different storage requirements, but you get a lot done for free with both of these tools. I think what you'll find is in the end, more than likely you'll end up paying for it. And I think, friends, it's money well spent. So 2 Chrome extensions, Loom L-O-O-M, and then Soapbox as well are 2 of the main video tools that I use. And friends, I use video every day. That's why I've got this background set up, these Barbara Walter lights set up, and I've got my good old Casey Kasem, uh, if you will, microphone set up here as well, because I love video sales. Most people don't want to talk to a salesperson, but they will watch a video. So I find it to be pretty darn effective. Hey, you're watching a video now as well. Hey, don't forget, friends, if sales was easy, everybody'd be doing it. And they're not. So we're either crazy, which is possible, or we found careers that will feed our families for a lifetime. Hey, why don't you ask your boss to invite me out to your sales conference? Are you gonna have a live one this year? I'd love to do some virtual training. So head over to ryandohrn.com to see what I can do to help you and your business. All right, take care. More listener questions next week. We'll see you then.
