Jason M. Lemkin argues that video is uniquely efficient for sharing knowledge because humans evolved to speak, not write. Video lets us use our natural communication instinct while gaining the structure and clarity that writing provides.
I think that one of the things that we've thought about a lot, like, from the very beginning, is that video is actually a really, really efficient way to encode knowledge. So we biologically evolved to just speak. We didn't biologically evolve to type or write. And so the problem with speaking is that it's relatively unstructured in nature, whereas writing is ruthlessly efficient, from getting it down to the kernel of the idea that you want and then sharing that out where somebody can consume it in the most compressed way possible.
