Excerpt from a YouTube interview where Nick Mehta (Gainsight CEO) discusses how 'scrappiness' — a do-it-yourself, hands-on attitude — can be inspired inside large companies by individuals who lead by example. He cites Scott Salkin (now Gainsight CMO) as an example of someone who models scrappiness across functions (pricing, sales), encouraging others to act rather than delegate.

Coming from a large company. Some people are very scrappy in large companies, but you sometimes get a lot of support there. So I think scrappiness can be inspired in people, and I think sometimes there's one person that can inspire it in others. I'll pick a person at Gainsight named Scott Salkin. I mentioned he was our. He's our CMO now. Like, we'll be like, hey, what do you think about new pricing model? And like, something, something, right? And he'll be like, here's the slides on the new pricing model tonight. He has a pretty big organization. You know, somebody else will be like, in sales, the sales leader and just go do a sales call themselves, do a demo themselves. And I think that if you have some people in your organization who are like that, they inspire everyone else to do that. If everyone in your organization is like, okay, let me go delegate this to somebody else, everyone's going to be like that. So that'd be my quick version. So let me close out with a quote that I love.
