5 Things To Do When a Man Goes Silent

In this YouTube video, relationship coach Sami Wunder addresses women who are experiencing a sudden drop in communication from a man they are dating. She outlines a five‑step process to manage the situation without panic or neediness. First, she advises a 24‑hour period of no contact, emphasizing that men often become busy and that immediate texting can appear needy. Second, she recommends emotional self‑regulation using specific mantras (e.g., “this or something even better” and “what is meant for me cannot pass me by”) to calm anxiety and prevent fear‑driven stories. Third, after four to five days of silence, she presents a choice: continue the no‑contact rule or send a brief, low‑pressure check‑in text. Fourth, she stresses the importance of observing the man’s subsequent actions rather than his words, distinguishing healthy from unhealthy behavior patterns such as breadcrumbing. Fifth, she advises recognizing when the pattern signals an unhealthy partner and walking away, encouraging women to value themselves and seek a consistent, masculine partner. Throughout, she references her Elevate coaching program, citing its success with thousands of women and inviting viewers to book a free consultation. The video concludes with standard YouTube calls to like, subscribe, and follow.

5 things to do when a man goes quiet instead of panicking and ruining the connection. Now, dear darling babe, if you're here, what's most likely happening right now is that a guy you're seeing, a guy who's been good to you, a guy who's been consistent, a guy who's been calling, texting, taking you out, has suddenly gone quiet on you. And I know it can feel very scary and extremely destabilizing, and it can bring up all of these fears in your belly. Did I do something wrong? Has he left for the good? Has he found someone else? Am I no longer important? Is he going to ghost and disappear? Now, while I get all of these fearful voices, it is so important that you don't act on them. So watch this video right till the end, because I'm going to give you the 5 things exactly to do and in which order to do them so that you are managing a situation like this like a total Wunder Diva. So The first instruction is, in the first 24 hours, I want you to do nothing. Now, I know many of you are used to daily texting with guys, especially in early dating. And most of the time, you get used to it when a guy sends you the daily good morning, daily good evening, daily how are you. And so it can feel really weird and strangely scary when suddenly one day you don't get that usual everyday text. So here's the thing. In the first 24 hours, you want to do nothing because truly, trust me, he could just be busy. And I know your fear voices are going to say, oh my God, did I do something wrong? Now, most likely you did nothing wrong. Most likely the connection is just stabilizing now. Most likely, when you understand the nature of men, a lot of men come on strong at the start, but it's impossible to maintain that level of daily contact and intensity. And so what happens is, if you're used to a guy replying to your texts, Within 2 minutes. Now, if he suddenly takes 5 hours or 6 hours because he's having a genuinely busy day, or maybe he's traveling, or maybe he's not looking at his phone because he's in meetings all day, doing something important, rocking the world, creating a new business, then if you go in and you text him and you break that flow, it does tend to look a bit needy. Now, what I've seen inside Elevate for my clients is that if a woman just takes a chill pill for 24 hours, and you make that like a discipline rule for yourself, that I'm I'm not going to panic, not at all. In the 24-hour window, most men come back, right? Most of the pain already disappears within the 24 hours if you can just regulate yourself in the first 24 hours and not start chasing the guy or texting him or panicking about the situation. Now, step number 2 is to regulate your nervous system, because if you're watching this video, you may be within the 24-hour mark right now, or you may be beyond it. And if you're beyond the 24-hour mark, the most The most important high-value thing you can do is emotional self-regulation. Now, this is about understanding that your mind is probably going to create a lot of stories around this scenario, if you've had bad experiences in the past, especially. So I know for some of my clients, a lot of them experience men ghosting, men fizzling out, especially after they've slept with the guy and they're feeling attached, or especially after the relationship has reached mid-level dating. So you've been spending a lot of time with this person over the last 2-3 months, And now suddenly there is this withdrawal of energy and withdrawal of attention. So it can feel extremely dysregulating because it can activate all of your past experiences, all of your past bad fears. So in this scenario, the best thing you can do for yourself is use the following mantra, which I teach my Elevate clients: this or something even better. That's the first one: this or something even better. And another one that tends to give a lot of emotional safety and security to my Elevate clients is when I teach them to say, what What is meant for me cannot pass me by. Which means, if this man is meant to be in your life, if this man truly is your man, then there is no way you can lose him. He is going to find a way back. And the truth is that sometimes men need a little bit of space, especially when they are building emotions for you, building feelings for you. You know, in the beginning phases of any connection, the dopamine is high, the hormones are high, you know, the attraction is high. But as Once a connection starts to stabilize, sometimes men will take a little bit of downtime. And what really is important is that in these moments, you are able to regulate yourself. And this is why we do so much work in ELEVATE with you around regulating your emotions, because even the smartest women, most well-educated women we work with, even they come into grips with their emotions, and they start acting and reacting from places of fear, like, is he gone? What's happening? And it makes them look needy when you do that. So the most high-value thing a woman can do is to trust that a man is in his own process. And if you're important and if you're valuable to him, he will find a way to get back to you. Now let's get to point number 3. If it's been 4 to 5 days and you have not heard from him, now we are in choice territory. And the reason why I say choice territory is because I don't like to give rules to my clients. I don't believe there is any one way to succeed in life or in love. I like to let my clients make their own choices and decide, you know, what is the next step they want to take in a situation like this. So if you were working with us in Elevate, we'd probably give you 2 choices. The first choice would be to still do nothing. Now, that would be my choice. If I were magically a single woman tomorrow, Sami Wunder out there dating up a storm, I wouldn't follow up. If a man is too busy to give me attention, then he's actively taking the risk to lose me. Because if I'm a single woman and I'm out there in the market, then he must understand that he's not the only contender for my time, energy, and attention. And if he doesn't show up with consistency or for whatever reason leaves me feeling on edge, leaves me feeling like he's not sure about us, or leaves me feeling like His work is a priority, not our connection, then I have literally zero desire within me to break the No Contact, break the silence in the situation right now, and go back with a text. Now, this is me being a total diva, and I feel like I am so clear on this that nobody would be able to convince me to send a message out of compassion, or just to see what happened, or did he die, or was he in an accident? Well, I have come to believe in my training as a love and relationship expert for high-achieving women in the last 10 years that unless there is a problem with technology and the guy literally doesn't have his phone, there is no reason for a man to ignore a woman or not text a woman he's interested in. Now, that is my belief system, but I do understand that when we are dealing with real human emotions, we cannot impose a certain framework on another human. And so in ELEVATE, sometimes our clients find it very difficult to implement this advice, and that is totally okay because I am Sami Wunder today, and I have trained my belief system so powerfully about men today. But if this was 15 years ago, when I was single and I was still figuring out my way with men, I can understand if a woman found it very difficult to not send a text when everything was going well and everything was going fine, and suddenly the guy didn't say anything for like 4 or 5 days. So in this scenario, I will also offer my clients a choice to send a text. The text will be something like, Just checking in. Notice we went quiet over here. Wink. Now, after this, whichever choice you make, the most important is the next step. And this step is about observing his behavior. So observing a man's actions after you have once broken the silence. Now, there are healthy men, and healthy men will not think that just because a woman sent one text, she's desperate, needy, running after him. I mean, for God's sake, it's just one text, boy. Like, it doesn't mean I'm all over you and I need you to breathe. However, if it's an unhealthy man, you will see that he might take your text from the lens of, oh, she's really into me, I am so special. And you will see that he might end up repeating the same behavior on you and pulling off ghosting, fizzling out, getting quiet, secretly hoping that you will keep over-functioning, keep filling the space, and keep carrying the connection forward. Now, this is a very slippery slope. And so many times, even when a woman will send the text, men will reassure you. They will not go silent on you. Everything is fine. So good to hear from you. And then before you know, next week, the same pattern is repeating. This is why I tell my clients, one-time benefit of doubt in case you decide to reach out, but do not fall for words. Observe actions. And this is the 5th part of the video. More often than not, especially if you're dating a guy who's not husband material, who is probably dating other women, as a side chick, a main chick, a placeholder chick, is still battling with his own commitment fears, is still having FOMO about not offering commitment to the amazing girl in front of him, but still like trying his options out on the dating apps. You know, these kind of men, they will always reassure you with words. They will always show up a little bit and breadcrumb you with words and sometimes even actions. Maybe he'll still take you out once in a blue moon for dinner and keep you hooked. But if you are going to fall for that breadcrumbing and those words, then you will never be able to attract a true masculine partner who actually is going to show up for you consistently, pour into you, give to you, provide for you, be loyal to you. So it's very important to know when to walk away. You do not want to keep giving the benefit of doubt to a guy who pulls off this going quiet on you too often. To be very honest with you, I've been happily married for nearly 13 years now. I've coached 19,000 women across 90 countries, and I've never found that healthy, masculine men withdraw or pull away or go quiet on women they're actually serious about. Because when a man is serious about a woman, he will never take the risk of losing her. So if you are dealing with a man who's constantly going in and out on you and driving you nuts, it's actually the sign that you should value yourself more in the connection. And if you are ready to attract a loving partner without over-functioning, without overgiving, and actually get adored in your relationship and go all the way from early dating to a commitment and proposal, my flagship program ELEVATE may just be the right fit for you.
