Emotionally Broken Men Will Show These Signs…

In this coaching video, relationship expert Sami Wunder warns successful women about the hidden danger of dating men who are emotionally broken. She begins with a real‑life example of a client whose seemingly perfect partner erupted into abusive behavior when triggered by discussions of exes. Wunder argues that no amount of external success can compensate for a lack of emotional maturity. She then outlines six concrete signs of emotional brokenness in men: (1) inability to manage personal triggers, leading to explosive, uncontrolled reactions; (2) difficulty expressing feelings, which hampers vulnerability and conflict resolution; (3) a pattern of sabotaging a relationship when it becomes too happy or stable, often by finding fault or creating drama; (4) avoidance of accountability, refusing to admit mistakes or apologize; (5) inability to tolerate a partner’s emotions, responding defensively or dismissively; and (6) reliance on distractions such as excessive social media, alcohol, work, or other numbing activities to avoid pain. Wunder emphasizes that these behaviors are not merely quirks but red flags indicating a partner who cannot sustain a healthy, loving relationship. She advises women to set clear boundaries, communicate their needs, and encourage the man to seek professional help, noting that the responsibility for healing lies with the man, not the woman. The video concludes with an invitation to join her “Get the Love You Desire” live challenge and her Elevate program, encouraging viewers to like, comment, and subscribe.

When a man is emotionally broken, he is going to show you the following signs. I think I've never made a more important video, and the importance of it is highlighted to me today because one of my Elevate clients attracted what seemed like a great man— masculine, adoring, supportive, loving— and 4 months into the relationship, they had a conversation about Her exes, and he got so triggered, he completely flipped on her, started to send her abusive text messages, started to post rubbish about her on social media, and my client is completely taken aback. Obviously, I don't want this happening to you. I don't want this happening to any of my clients. So I decided to make this video on the signs you have to look out for to test if a man is truly capable of being an emotionally stable partner. Because guess what? No amount of success, no amount of good looks, no amount of money can ever make up for the lack of emotional maturity and emotional capability in a man. And so many otherwise good men on paper can end up being really crazy, emotionally triggered, and abusive partners if you are not watchful of the signs of emotional brokenness Early on in the dating process. So let's get started. This is dating and relationship coach Sami Wunder, and I specialize in helping smart, strong, successful women find and keep amazing love. So let's look at sign number 1 that a man is emotionally broken. Well, he can't handle his triggers, like the story I told you with my client. Now, obviously, as an expert, it is very normal for me to assume that this man has some kind of trauma around being cheated upon, some kind of trauma about being lied to, and some kind of trauma response going on within him when it comes to being able to manage his jealousy and his trigger around my client's exes and my client interacting with her exes. And at the same time, no matter what the explanation for that trauma is, no matter what the explanation for those triggers is— and I'm sure there's a very human explanation for it— the way he is acting shows us that he is incapable of being in a Stable, loving partnership. Now, let's be very clear: we all have our triggers, and we all have our traumas, and we all have our pain from the past. But what makes us a healthy partner in any relationship, and what makes a man a healthy partner, is our ability to look at our triggers, is our ability to regulate ourselves in our triggers. And when we behave in this flying off the handle, going completely nuts, not having any kind of control over how we're responding when we are triggered, that is an extreme sign of emotional brokenness. Now, no matter how this man returns to my client, I believe the damage has been done. If you dare to speak to a woman in such disrespectful ways, no amount of apologizing can ever make up for that because, well, the deed is done, and now she has a template for how you behave and how you fly off the handle when you are triggered or when things don't go your way. So the first big sign, red flag, of emotional brokenness in a man is his inability to deal with his triggers. Now, the second sign of emotional brokenness in a man is his struggle with expressing his feelings. You see, when we are dealing with men who have a hard time expressing their feelings, it's going to spread across the board. It's going to spread across his love for you, his expression of his joy around you. He's going to have a hard time complimenting you. He's going to have a hard time being vulnerable around you. He's going to have a hard time expressing his real feelings for you because he's not comfortable with feelings. But of course, it's also going to spread to the more challenging moments, which all relationships have. So when there is conflict, when he doesn't like something you're saying or doing, like in this scenario, if he was able to express his emotions, he would've said, Wow, I feel really triggered by this. It activates a past wound of mine. One of my girlfriends actually cheated on me with one of her exes, and this is very painful for me to hear, even though you don't mean it this way. But guess what? When a man has a hard time expressing his feelings, he's not going to be able to do this. He's not going to be able to have a solid conversation with you in moments when that conversation is really required in a relationship. So if you have a man in your life who struggles with expressing his feelings, that is a sign of emotional brokenness. Now, of course, I do not want you to write off the guy If the 2nd sign is visible, honestly, it's going to be visible in a lot of men also, because we simply live in societies where men are judged for having feelings, expressing feelings. So we do find, like, there is this mass volume of men who have a hard time expressing their emotions. But of course, you have to look at the degree, right? There are degrees in this sign. There is the basic degree where, you know, he has a hard time expressing his emotions, but he tries to, he works on it, he tries to make it happen. And then there are degrees of complete extreme, where he doesn't even try, and he continues to blow up, and he continues to act in weird ways, but doesn't take any responsibility for his feelings, doesn't go to a therapist, doesn't go to a coach, doesn't work on himself. So you have to look at the degree at which a man is expressing. I'm sure many of you have been with men where you just go, everything was going well, Why does he start to behave in this weird way suddenly? Everything was going well, and suddenly he starts to pick up fights. Everything was going well, and now he suddenly pulled away, starting fights, telling me he's not sure about us. Why is he behaving this way? Well, because he has an upper radar for how good he allows his life to be, his relationships to be, and once he reaches that threshold, he has to sabotage it. He has to bring it down. He cannot stay at that high high level of happiness and joy. When a man is emotionally broken— this is not just, by the way, for women. Of course, we work with this with our clients inside ELEVATE, where we say, if you're used to drama, if you're used to pain in your relationships, then when a relationship feels really good and really happy and everything is going well, notice your tendency to sabotage it. Notice your tendency to find fault. Notice your tendency to try and destroy the goodness that you have because your nervous system is just not used to that level of goodness. So it happens both for men and women, and we only work with our clients in ELEVATE to heal this. But of course, you could be dealing with a man, or you could have attracted a man who has a similar challenge, where when things get really good, all of a sudden, he starts to find fault with you. All of a sudden, he starts fights with you. All of a sudden, he becomes distant, wants to go away on a sabbatical for 6 months without you, and start to— Say all these things that just don't make sense to you? Well, it is a sign of emotional brokenness. It is a sign that this person cannot be in this happy, joyous, harmonious relationship with you without destroying it. And can this be helped? Absolutely. But it needs tremendous awareness on the part of the guy. And of course, professional help would be the way to heal this. Now, sign number 4 that a man is emotionally broken is when he avoids accountability. And by accountability, I mean, we all mess things up once in a while. We We all get it wrong once in a while. We all say the wrong thing once in a while. What matters is our ability to say, I'm sorry, I see that about myself, and I'm willing to take responsibility for that. So when you're dealing with an emotionally broken man, he cannot and will not take accountability because he cannot handle the feeling of being wrong. He cannot handle the feeling of making a mistake. He is right and he has to be right. Now, this kind of a man makes for a miserable life partner because, Again, we can have compassion and we can have forgiveness for men when they make a mistake, but they need to admit to that mistake. They need to say sorry for that mistake, and they need to promise to themselves and to us that they're going to do better. But when a man is emotionally broken, it's either his way or the highway. And if you want him to take accountability for how he showed up, you are going to become the troublemaker. So if you're seeing this red flag in a man, this is a huge sign that a relationship, a long-term partnership with this person, is going to be difficult because they just have a very hard time saying sorry and taking responsibility for their actions. Now, sign number 5 that a man is emotionally broken is when he can't deal with your feelings. Of course, in the beginning of the video, I talked about how a man is emotionally broken when he can't deal with his own feelings, when he can't express them, feel them, and make sense of them in a reasonable way. But this also has a mirror energy to it, which means that it's not just his feelings that he's averse to, it's not just his feelings that he avoids, he also can't deal with your feelings. In other words, whenever you do have a feeling in the relationship, when you say, that didn't feel good, this felt off, this feels not special, this makes me feel disappointed, you are going to be met with an extremely defensive reaction. That defensive reaction is basically going to tell you, sorry, girl, but you don't get to have feelings in this relationship, because every time you have feelings, it makes me feel bad. It makes me feel worse about myself, and I'm not going to take that. Because guess what? The interrelated problem of lack of accountability. I don't want to feel like my saying something or my doing something is the thing that upset you. And so what am I going to do? I'm going to make you feel bad about having feelings. I'm going to call you dramatic. I'm going to call you oversensitive. I'm going to call you all these names. I'm going to present you as the troublemaker so that I don't have to deal with the discomfort of your feelings. Again, we're looking at an emotionally broken man. It is very difficult to do a relationship with such a person. And in the Elevate Relationships group, we do have a couple of clients whose men, when our clients are behaving so healthily, communicating so well, even then their men have issues with their communication. It's like, you're not even allowed to feel bad. You're not allowed to have an emotion, because if you do, that makes me feel bad about myself, and I'm not going to be able to handle that. That's why inside ELEVATE, I always say that what I teach works on healthy men. Sometimes, when you practice healthy behaviors, you show up in your healthy feminine energy, you communicate respectfully, you will see that the person in front of you still keeps acting mad and still keeps going nuts. But you have to understand that that is not about you. You see, once you're a partner who's offering healthy behaviors, you're being emotionally mature, then you cannot take the burden of the other person's behavior. That's why inside ELEVATE, we tell our clients, this stuff works on healthy men. And that's why it works so powerfully, because if you do have a healthy man in your life, and the reason why you're fighting and the reason why the two of you are disconnected and the reason why the two of you are losing attraction is because of the way you are communicating, which is not healthy, then you stepping up your communication, you stepping up, talking more healthily to your partner, is going to make a massive positive difference in your relationship. And that's going to happen really, really fast. But it won't happen if you're dealing with an emotionally broken man. Now, the last sign that a man is emotionally broken is when he constantly uses means to distract himself from his pain in instead of facing his pain. Emotional brokenness often results from our broad ability— emotional brokenness often results from our broad inability to cope with our emotions, especially if they are negative emotions of pain, disappointment, trauma. When a man is not able to face his own pain, he's going to use all kinds of distractions to not look at his pain. A lot of brain-dead scrolling on Instagram and TikTok, a lot of alcohol to numb down the pain, a lot of brain-dead late nights out drinking beer with friends. Basically, he's going to use all these things as a distraction to get away from facing the real issue. Some of our clients in ELEVATE, they're talking about their partners having a drinking problem, Or they're talking about their partners having a workaholism problem, where they just work, work, work, and they never make time for the family, they never make time for her. And we're helping these women. And when we talk about emotional brokenness, one of the top signs that emerges is the man's inability to deal with his emotions and his constant desire to distract himself from his real feelings by keeping himself too busy or keeping himself numb and drunk. So this is is a huge sign that a man is emotionally broken, but this is also one of the signs that can be quickly fixed. So of course, before we finish this video, I'm going to invite you to not label and judge. These are helpful tools to recognize what is going on with somebody, but I would say, for the most part, if you have a loving man in your life, which is what my Elevate clients do, then with awareness and with some professional support, these things can be healed. And the most important thing is that the man in front of you is willing to do the work. Your job, if you have a guy who's showing all these signs of emotional brokenness, is not to help him heal, is not to fix him, is to actually be a really clear communicator of what works for you, what doesn't work for you, drawing your healthy boundaries, and then more than anything, asking him to step up and get professional support. Because guess what? As his wife or as his girlfriend, this This is not your job to help him heal. It is his job to heal himself and to show up as a healthy partner for you in your life. And is this possible? Absolutely is. We have so many positive, inspirational turnaround stories emerging from ELEVATE. And it's ironical, because inside ELEVATE, we don't really work with the men, we work with the woman. But just the woman shifting the way she's showing up, the way she's talking, the way she's holding her boundaries, the way she's saying no to bullshit, All of that has such a huge and positive impact on the relationship. I hope this video was helpful. Let me know which sign shocked you or is present in your relationship. And remember, I am running my live challenge, Get the Love You Desire, 1st Feb to 3rd Feb.
