From Perpetually Single To Happily Married

In this interview, dating coach Sami Wunder talks with Lauren, a woman from Ohio, about her dramatic shift from an unsuccessful, self‑critical dating life to a happy marriage. Lauren recounts how she used to chase men, feel ghosted, and blame her body size and personality for her lack of success. A friend introduced her to Sami’s work, and after watching a YouTube video she purchased the e‑book, the Diva Toolkit, and later the Leap Into Love program, among others. She describes how the programs helped her recognize limiting beliefs about men’s preferences, adopt a manifestation practice of living as if her partner already existed, and change her communication style—stating clearly that she would not initiate contact and expecting the man to make the effort. These shifts led her to meet her husband Brandon, who embraced her authenticity, planned dates, and supported her coaching journey. Lauren also shares details of their honeymoon in the Bahamas, how they resolve minor conflicts, and reflects on the value of the coaching investment, emphasizing that structured programs and active homework (including her “Sami Wunder notebook”) are far more effective than trying to learn from free YouTube videos. She concludes that the financial and time commitment was worthwhile, and that the coaching helped her love herself, accept her body, and attract a partner who appreciates her true self.

Woohoo! I am super duper excited to introduce to you the gorgeous Lauren from—
Ohio, United States.
Ohio, United States, who is going to be sharing her amazing love story with us, her amazing story of life transformation, self-transformation. And what better day to share this on than Pink Tuesday? So we're all ready, we're all ready, and I should put on my pink sunglasses so that we really rock it and we talk about love and all good things, and we talk about how— who Lauren used to be and who she is now. So I'm gonna let her do the talking is my intention. Well, good luck to me. So Lauren, when you came to me and when you found my work, before you did leap into love What does your love life look like?
So, I was unsuccessful in dating. I would go— I wouldn't go on that many dates because I was always picky with a purpose, which I thought was a good thing. And in some ways it was, and it served me because I could have ended up with men that weren't right for me, and I know that. So I was glad that I was picky. However, I— if I liked a man, if I went on a date with him, I would then chase him or, you know, send him a lot of messages, that kind of thing. And I couldn't figure out, like, why they wouldn't message me back, or they would just sort of fall off, or they would ghost me. And I would get furious that I kept getting ghosted by these men because I'm like, what's, what's the deal? Like, I'm a great girl. You know, what's my problem? And then I would get down on myself and I would say, oh, well, men only want a woman that's like dainty and sweet. And like, I'm loud and I say what I want and I'm just me. And then I would think, oh, well, maybe it's because I'm a chunky girl. Guys don't like, you know, guys only want skinny hot girls. They don't want a chunky girl. And so I was really down on myself having doubts about who I was, you know, thinking, oh, I need to be a different person. I need to be like quiet and meek and things that I'm just not. And it was really hard for me. And I would post things about, like, on Facebook, like about how dating was hard or how I, you know, I got these horrible messages from men and just, just it was depressing. And then I had a friend who is also in your Inner Circle and Leap Into Love group. It's actually a friend of mine from high school. Her sister reached out to me and said, Lauren, you need to look at This, this Sami Wunder, you need to look at her stuff. And I was like, oh, whatever. Like, I'm not— it's not that bad. I'm okay. Like, this is just what I have, you know, this is just how I am. Guys just don't like me. Um, and then I was like, I'll give it a go. And I watched like one of your videos on YouTube or something. And I was like, oh my God, what have I been doing? So it was just kind of an eye-opener, especially for me, like chasing the guys that I, that I liked, like, you know, messaging them a whole bunch and not understanding why they wouldn't— why they would kind of fall off the radar. And I never really had very many, like, serious long relationships. I think my longest relationship before my, my marriage now. Um, was like a year and a half in high school. I just wasn't good at it. So, and it just— I just changed how I looked at things once I saw your videos and got your programs.
Wow. I mean, so this is like a 180-degree turnaround, right?
Yeah, yeah, because like before I was so like— I was chasing the guys. That was the number one thing that stopped. And then like I was putting them on a pedestal Like, if I really liked them, it was just, oh, they're so great, and this, that, and the other. And then I, you know, once I started doing your work, I realized, no, I'm on the pedestal. Like, they gotta fight their way up here, and they're still not getting up here with me. I'm still here on the pedestal. And it's funny, my mom has told me that my entire life. Like, you want a man who puts you on a pedestal, blah, blah, blah. I never listened to her until, you know, I bought the advice, and then I understood. and listened and I made the investment in myself. And then the whole thing about being down on myself for who I was, like being loud and being blunt and saying what I want, and that was actually, you know, once I accepted those qualities about myself and accepted like how I look and my weight and stuff, it didn't matter anymore. And oddly enough, my husband Loves that stuff about me. Like, he loves that I'm loud and I just say what I want. He loves that I will randomly sing around the house. Like, he loves that stuff. And it was stuff that I thought no man would like. It was that limiting belief. No, like, no man's gonna like this, this kind of girl, which I was completely wrong. Like, once I accepted that about myself, it was— it made a humongous difference. So that was huge.
Oh wow. I think women, I think women can already see that you went from the woman who chased men and who put men up on a pedestal to the woman who accepted herself, learned that she was good enough the way she was for her to be loved and accepted. And you got the ring. I mean, tell us. I did.
Oh my gosh, that one nail's broken, but—
Oh, look at that sparkly diamond. Gorgeous. So tell us a little bit more about your journey. So did you start with Leap Into Love, or?
No, I started with, I think I started with just your ebook, and then I devoured that, like in a day. Devoured it, and then I was like, oh my God, why did I not know these things? Like, this has to be common knowledge for people. Why did I not know this? And then I got— I want to say I got your toolkit, maybe like the Diva Toolkit. And then I got another program. It's been a while because I've been, you know, I've been following you for a while now. Um, but I just kept getting these programs and just investing in myself. So I have several of the programs, including the The one for people in relationships. I can't remember which one.
Soulmates Forever.
I think, yeah, I think I have that one too. And, and I just, I just find it all very valid. And I really took a lot of the information to heart, especially with like Leap Into Love. I printed all those pages and I did all those workbook pages. And then just, just throughout the entire, all the different programs I did. I have a notebook that I call my Sami Wunder notebook that I, I used to carry it around all the time. It's in my house right now, but I used to always have it in my purse, no matter where I was. Just as a reference, right? Just as a reference to realize, like, I got this. And it wasn't like— I know some people say, oh, it's such a struggle to change and this, that, and the other. It's not that bad. If you realize it, realize you still get to be you. That never changes. It's just the way you think is different and the way you present things are different. Um, like one of the, one of the big things for me that I found really helpful in Leap Into Love was manifestation. And that one of the things that was said was like living in the space that the man for you already exists. And I swear, once I really felt that, he just showed up. He just showed up. It was bizarre. It was, it was, it was like everything I wanted, he just appeared. And it's because I was living like, well, he's already out there, so what do I got to lose? It was great.
It's so funny because I remember telling one of my clients that it was exactly the same thing for me, that I started living as if, like he's already there. And that's module 1 of Leap Into Love. And I asked myself, who would I be if I was already happily married? Yeah? And then I realized that all this performance anxiety for men and trying to be someone so that he may like you, everything went away. You know, I sat in front of prospective dates like a married woman. And that just helped me relax so much. Like, I could just be myself. And I love that. And I just already had the ring on my finger. And that was so powerful, that switch, you know? I don't have to perform. I can just relax and be myself, you know, and lean back, like still be in my feminine energy. Yeah. Yeah, so awesome. So, um, I think the women would love to know what was your— like, you did tell us a little bit about, about it already. What were your major limiting beliefs around men, love, and marriage?
For a long time, I thought Like I said, men only wanted like dainty girls, like skinny pretty girls. Like, you know, I go somewhere and I'm like, I can't compete with any of these girls. Um, it was— everything was a competition, which I thought was— that's what I thought it was in my head, and it's really not that way. And I thought all men, all they wanted was sex. Like, that's all they wanted from, from anybody. Like, I I just assumed that's what they wanted. I also thought like the receiving energy, like I felt like I had— if I got a date, I had to like give something back. Like it was so stupid. And once I let that stuff go, it made it so much easier for me. And funny enough, with my husband now, one of the things, like not reaching out to men like I used to, like on— I want to say on our like second date, I'm like I said, I'm very blunt. So I go, hey, just so you know, like, I'm not going to reach out to you first. I just kind of let him know. I go, you know, if you're interested in me, you're going to make the effort. And he goes, okay. Like, he just took it like, all right, I'll do that. And I had, just because the way I am, I had said that to other men and they were like, they get mad about it. Like, that's not fair and blah, blah, blah. I'm like, well, they're not for me. You know, it was, it was so simple because my husband was just like, all right, no problem. I'll reach out every time. And he did, and he was happy to, and he still does most of the time.
That's amazing. I think that's so reassuring for a lot of women to hear because I think still a lot of women doubt themselves, or they— I think, I think they don't completely trust the work, if I'm honest. Because when I did the work, I completely trusted it, and Chris was exactly like your husband. I said to him, you know, I'm more traditional and I will not be making the initiation
And
can you handle the communication and the planning? And he was like, sure, okay.
If they like you, they will do it gladly, you know. And
I think a lot of women get into the, the power struggle, like where you argue about it and you try to convince the guy, or you try to— like, he gets mean at you and then you get mean back at him, and you just go like, okay dude, you know, we're not on the same page, and that's okay. That's Yeah, yeah.
Like,
I want someone who can minimally text me and call me.
Right, right. Yeah, he had no problem with it. And planning all the dates, like, he lived an hour and a half away from me. And I know, you know, seeing women on the group, they say like that some men always say, oh, you're too far away, let's meet in the middle, blah blah blah. Brandon, my husband, came to me every single time. Came an hour and a half to see me, and it was like, it was no big deal for him. He was just like, it was worth it. Like, you were worth it every time. Um, and, and even now, like, he'll be like, what do we— what do you want to do for dinner? And I go, well, you know, sweetie, I do like when the man plans the date. I still let him know that stuff, and he thinks it's funny. Like, he's very well aware of my work with you, and he knows who you are, and he really appreciates you because You know, without you, I wouldn't have, you know, landed him, and vice versa. You know, he wouldn't have found me. Oh,
that's, that's a really interesting point. So I think a lot of women hide this work from men.
Oh no.
So tell me, like, how was, how was your experience with your husband? Because I know I have a lot of clients, you know, on their marriage day, like, they introduce me to their husbands and say, this is my love coach, and their husbands go like, Well, thank you. Thank you for supporting us. Thank you. But I also know that a lot of women have fears around being seen or their men knowing that they are doing love coaching.
I think men see that as you're working on yourself, and men love when women do things to help themselves, like to work on themselves and to just, that self-care. Men love that. And they encourage it. Most healthy, normal, good men, there's gonna be the crazy pants out there that don't, but the good, healthy, worthy men appreciate it 'cause they know you're working on you and they have, you know, they can respect that. Like, I'm pretty sure I told Brandon I had a dating coach probably like our 3rd or 4th date and he's like, that's great, that's excellent. And then he's like, I know some girls that could use that. I'm not giving my information out. I don't want them to know my secrets.
Oh, I love that.
I love it. I'm just an open book, and I didn't, you know, I didn't feel a need to not say that I was getting the support because I think it's a great thing. I think that, you know, it just means I was taking care of me, which is important.
I love that. I think you have no idea how you have empowered so many amazing women who, like, feel a sense of fear or feel a sense of shame Shame around asking for support in this department. So like, shout out to you. Awesome. I love it. Okay. So you just got back from your honeymoon from the Bahamas. How was that?
It was excellent. We had a great time. We did an all-inclusive resort and had a lot of frozen— frozen mojitos was our big, pretty big drink of choice. But we had an excellent time and it was like carefree and My husband— I was kind of worried because my husband is not a beachy kind of dude. He's like a mountain man. Like, he likes to go hunting. And I thought, oh my gosh, like, I really want to go on this beach vacation and I don't know if he's like gonna like it. And he's like, no, no, let's do it. Let's do it. You know, we even, we even had a little bit of a tiff. I— my big thing was I wanted to swim with dolphins and And he like, he just assumed it was just me going. And I go, no, I want— this is something I want us to do together. And like, he didn't really say anything. And I got mad because I didn't like take the time to listen to him. And when I get frustrated with him, which is very rarely, it is very rare, I usually just like leave. Like, I leave the house and go shopping, or I just, I just leave. And we call that Lauren dealing with her shit. That's what we call it. He knows what it is. He's like, oh, we're Or if I'm like not talking, he goes, oh, are you dealing with your shit? And I go, yep, I am. He's like, all right, let me know when you still need me or when you need me again. But when I came back, we talked about it and he goes, I just didn't realize you wanted to do that with me and I'd be happy to go. And I was like, why did I think he just wasn't wanting to be a part of this? And like all this, it was that those inner voices talking again, coming back out at me and I took the time to just go away for a minute, regroup, rethink about what I was doing, and then we came back and it was all fine. It was just, it's, I wouldn't have, I would have let things like that just blow up in my face before. And it was nothing, like little things that are basically nothing. And now I just take the time, step away, come back and discuss things and it's fine. It's been, it's been really great. So, and he loved it. He loved the beach. He loves swimming with the dolphin. He loves He's like, when can we go back? So, you know, I think it's— the thing is, like, he's not that kind of guy, beach guy, but he was with me. So he said he was because it was with me.
That is super duper sweet. So, Lauren, you are a complete transformation love turnaround story. I mean, you said your last relationship was at high school for 1.5 years, and now you're married. So, um, and you have the ring and you have the wonderful man and you have a honeymoon in Bahamas. I think you, you are a complete inspiration, love story. And I think you brought up some really important points, like you learn these skills but you don't have to fundamentally change yourself. You have to love yourself and accept yourself. That's what this is most majorly about. Um, I loved it that you Right in the beginning, made it very clear to your husband what kind of girl you are, what kind of dating you like, and he said yes. Easy, easy. It's easy with the right guy.
Oh my gosh, it was so easy.
And I totally loved it that you shared that, um, shared my work with him, and he, he likes my work too, and he thinks I'm awesome. So I love that. That's why I wore the Pink Tuesday glasses, but I had to keep taking them off because I couldn't see you properly. Yeah. Okay, so what would be Would you say the investment and the dollars you've spent on this work has been worth it?
Oh, 100% and more. Like, and I did the self-study. I didn't have the funds to do the, you know, the more one-on-one programs with you, which was fine. I did the self-study. But if you make that investment, do the work. Like, if you're going to pay any amount you're going to pay, Do the work and have a Sami Wunder notebook and do what it takes to better yourself. Because at the end of the day, it's about you. It's about who you are as a person and loving yourself and understanding that, that you are just worthy. You're so worthy no matter what. Like, and the man that is for you is already there. He's already there.
He's already created! He's looking for you like you're looking for him. Okay, and what about Leap Into Love? What would you— you've gone through the program so much in depth. What do you think of it?
I loved it! Now, I will say, like, not every little thing applies to everybody. Like, that's just kind of any program is like that. But the pieces that are so important, like the pieces that really resonate with you, like, really take those to heart and And realize, you know, it's not, it's not anything to tear you down. It's something so you can, quote unquote, like my husband says, deal with your shit. And, you know, excuse my language, but that is my favorite word, so I don't really care.
We're all up for it.
Yeah. But, um, but yeah, it's just doing the work. And even if it doesn't necessarily apply for you, like, dig down deep in your In your inner self to figure out, you know, what your triggers are or, you know, what, what your problem areas are. And mine was definitely like the bad voices in my head calling, you know, just saying the bad things about myself and my own personality. And once I told those to hit the road, I was good.
Awesome.
Just taking it and taking it one day at a time. If you feel overwhelmed, Just re-listen to parts. I know a lot of women in the group, women in the group still do that, you know, regularly, and they still have questions, and that's okay. So it's a great support system.
It's deep work, right? It's not a quick fix.
No.
So, and this is just the very last question for anyone who thinks that they could learn this stuff on YouTube. Could they learn this stuff on YouTube?
No.
Could you change and transform through YouTube?
No. I mean, and there's a ton of relationship coaches and things out there, lots of different tools, videos on YouTube, but there's only so much a video can do. You know, there's, there's a lot more when you're basically being a real student of something and taking notes and having the frolic sheets to work on and basically doing your homework. And I'm a former teacher, so like I'm all about doing the homework.
And the structure, right? Like there's an order to things and there is a— like if you learn the Z before you learn the A and B, you know what I mean?
It's not gonna work.
Yeah. We did have someone who said, I think I could learn most of this on YouTube, and we were like, no, you can't. And we don't want you to invest in the program if you think you could learn this on YouTube, because then that would be really irrational. Like, why are you doing it? Why are you doing this? I mean, she did end up starting with Leap Into Love, but I think those are the kind of voices that can hold us back. And it's actually just fear and resistance, like the stuff we tell ourselves.
Yes. Yeah. And well, I mean, even buying the program, I was like, oh no, like, it's kind of a lot of money even for me. Like, I have a good job. And so I had that back and forth in my mind, and then I was just like, This is my life we're talking about. I am— at the time I was probably like 33. I'm 35 now, but I'm like, I am, you know, I want to have kids soon and I don't— why, why am I wasting time? And then I just did it and it was wonderful and so worth it. YouTube, you just can't. It's not there.
Well, I'm so grateful that you came and shared your, your ring, your honeymoon, your successful turnaround story. during your busy workday. So super grateful for the time. Thank you so much.
You're welcome. Me too. Thank you so much for your help.
