How To Make A Guy Friend Fall In Love With You

In this livestream, dating coach Sami Wunder addresses a viewer’s question about how to turn a male friend into a romantic partner. She frames the issue for successful women, emphasizing that friendship and romance are fundamentally different and that a man cannot be forced to feel love. Sami outlines four key points: (1) clearly distinguish platonic friendship from a romantic relationship, noting that romance involves sexual/physical intimacy while friendship should remain non‑sexual; (2) acknowledge that a friendship can evolve into romance only if both parties want it, and that trying to control a man’s feelings is futile; (3) explore why women stay in one‑sided friendships—primarily hope and the belief that continued availability will eventually earn the man’s affection; (4) recommend an authentic, high‑value response: honestly disclose the deeper feelings to the man, then cut contact to give both parties space, thereby honoring oneself and potentially prompting the man to reassess his feelings. Throughout, Sami stresses authenticity, self‑respect, and the importance of moving on to make space for a true soulmate. She also encourages live audience interaction, promotes her private community, and shares a client success story to illustrate her methods.

All right, so I'm going to read Donna's situation directly from the email that she sent me yesterday. Hi, Sami. Your work is godsend. Thank you very much. I'm already having so many aha moments with your programs. My whole life and all the mistakes I have made are flashing in front of my eyes, but thanks to the tools, I am not beating myself up for it. Okay, that is great to hear and very, very inspiring. In fact, I'm celebrating that I do now have the information to turn my love life around and make new empowered choices. That's a very wise girl there. Amazing! The guy I have liked for almost the last 1 year is best friends with me. We can talk forever, literally for hours. We connect at so many levels, but he has never made a move with me physically. He's dating others, and he has never brought up a topic about our romantic relationship. In fact, I have developed such strong feelings for him that I am contemplating if I should let him know. I am very scared that he will reject me, because it's very easy for me to see that he is not interested in me. Can you please help me and help me turn this friendship around into a romantic relationship? All right, so this is a very valid, common question, as many of you would agree. If you are in a similar situation, please let us know in the comments So, I have 4 points that I want to talk about today, which I believe are going to address Donna's situation, but also help you ladies understand how to approach these situations in general, with any man in your life, when it comes to navigating friendship with men we have romantic feelings for. Yes. So, the first thing I want you to understand is that there is a huge difference between romantic relationships and friendship. Romantic relationships are involving sexual tension, and not just sexual tension, it's materialized sexual tension, which means you sleep with each other, you're romantically and you're physically involved with the man, when you have romantic feelings for him. Friendship, on the other hand, is platonic. It is out of bounds when you look at the ideas of friendship and you look at the rules of friendship, if you believe in rules. You should not be sleeping with a friend, because every time you sleep with a friend, you are mixing the 2 situations. You are converting a friendship into a friends-with-benefits situation if there's no emotional attraction, or you're making it into a romantic— Relationship. And this can be really confusing. I mean, my head is spinning just listening to myself talk because it's so confusing when you start to sleep with someone you have a friendship with. So we want to be very clear, firstly, on understanding the difference between friendship and romantic relationship. Romantic relationship means physical attraction is present And you are sleeping with the person that you want to have a romantic relationship with, whereas friendship should, in the ideal world, be platonic, be without sexual interaction. So this is not the case. It seems like he's not made any moves on you physically, so there's no way sex can happen. But it's important for me to lay the foundation of the difference between romantic love and friendship, because so many Sometimes women find themselves confused. They sleep with their male friends, and then they wonder where they stand, and they wonder what he's thinking, what does he want, is this a real relationship, etc., etc. So it's going to do you so much good if you can look at these 2 things very separately, especially if you're single, and you're not just single in a way that you want to drag being single forever. You actually want to intentionally Step up this year and make this your year of attracting your forever man. So if you are looking to attract your forever man, you don't want to confuse the two. You want to keep them really separate. Friendship only with people where, you know, there's no sex happening, there's no physical desire. And if that's not possible, then it's already falling into the romantic realm, and then we want to deal with it differently. So when we have friends or male friends with whom we have sexual attraction, we don't want to fool ourselves, right? We want to admit it to ourselves, and we want to admit to ourselves that we want something more here. Now, this is not about— I think Donna is really aware. She's already doing the programs, and she can really spot herself. She can really identify very easily that she has more than friendship feelings for this man, so she's able to write this down. But for many of us out there, we're actually confused. We try to stay in denial and avoidance of the reality of the situation. We stay friends with men and we say, he's just a friend, he's just a friend, he's just a friend. But actually, we want much more. We want romance, we want sex, we want— we feel the power of the physical attraction. So the first point is all about getting really honest with yourself. Where do you stand with this person? And if you Feel more than friendship. You want to admit that to yourself. That is absolutely the step number one. Okay, so amazing to have so many of you. If you are watching this live, please make sure to leave a comment. Let us know where you're joining from, and do let me know this is resonating because if it is resonating, I'll be more than happy to do more of these on a regular basis. So let me know in the comments where you're joining from. And let me know if this is resonating and hitting home with you. Okay, so number 2 point that I want to mention here is that, is it true that friendship cannot develop into a romantic relationship? Absolutely not. Of course, friendship can develop into a romantic relationship. However, it cannot develop into a romantic relationship unless the man wants it as well. So now, this is the case with Donna. This point is very relevant to Donna, because she's asking me, how can I make him want me romantically? How can I convert this friendship into romance? Yeah. And what we're forgetting here, Donna, is that we cannot control a man into loving us. We cannot control a man into choosing us. We cannot convince We can't just cajole, push a man into choosing us. It has to come from within him. He has to feel inspired, he has to feel attracted, and he needs to want to have it with you. Now, if that is not there, which is very much this case, because he's never made a move at you physically, he is Dating other women. So he's making it amply clear to you that he is, right now, not choosing you. He is, right now, not into you the way you'd want him to be in order to have a romantic relationship. Now, this is a hard pill to swallow for a lot of us women, because we like to control everything in our lives. The feminist movement, you want something, you go get it. You You manipulate, you push, you convince, you cajole, you strategize, and this can make us feel really helpless when we understand that, in love, you cannot push, cajole, convince a man into loving you. It is his free choice. He can choose you, or he can choose not to choose you. Now, this can feel sad, this can feel bad, this can also feel helpless, this can make you feel angry, as if you have no power, but that is not the truth. That is just an interpretation you're making. Actually, there are behaviors you can do that may inspire— so you see, I'm using the word may inspire, not saying it's guaranteed, not saying it will happen, but that may inspire his romantic love for you. And that is not going to happen by being his buddy-girl. That's not going to happen by being his friend. Okay, so what did I say in point number 2? I said in point number 2, That friendship can turn into love. Friendship can turn into love, but it cannot turn into love if only one person wants it. In this case, that's you, Donna. You want more, but he clearly doesn't want more. If he wanted more, he's not stupid. If he's a healthy masculine man, he would have long ago made a move physically, taken you out on a date, asked you out. He's not that helpless. He's dating other women. Friendship can turn to love, but not if only one party wants it. You can't control him into choosing you. You can't control him into wanting you more. But what you can do is, by practicing high-value behaviors, which is what my work is about, you may increase your chances of him noticing you and actually feeling something for you. It can happen. It doesn't always happen, but happens often enough for you to give it a try. Okay? So that's point number 2. Let me know in the comments if this is resonating, if this is making sense. Hey, hey, hello everyone. So wonderful to see so many of you join us live today on this livestream. We're talking about what do you do when you have romantic feelings and sexual attraction for your male friend? How do you navigate it? All right, so point number 3: Why are you there? Why are you there in a situation where you have literally wasted 1 year of your life being with a man you are romantically interested in, who is not giving you what you want? Your letter does not mention that you are rotational dating. Your letter does not mention any other man. So I imagine, more or less, This is the man who is taking all the space, emotional space in your life. This is the man who is totally in your mind, in your focus, and you are there. You are there without your needs having been met. You are choosing to be there. You're choosing to be available to him. You're choosing to carry on. You're choosing to stay friends. Even though that's not your reality, but you're still allowing that to happen. So why do we do that? Now, please don't beat yourself up, because I truly believe this is a very human response to such a situation. And the reason why you hold on, and the reason why so many of us hold on— I mean, I did all this myself. That's why I am here talking about these things today. The reason why you hold on to such a man is because you have hope somewhere. You have hope alive within you that if you can just stick around and be his best friend, and listen to all his dating sagas, and listen to all his dilemmas about women, and be the shoulder to cry on, and be the best buddy girl he can ever have, then he might just see your value, and he might just turn around. So this This is the hope part that keeps so many of us women stuck in this non-productive cycle. You see, I'm a love coach, so my one and only aim is to help you get results in your love life. When I look at it, look at the situation from this— look at your situation from this perspective, it's just a really non-productive situation to be in. You waste your time, You wasted 1 year of your life. You don't date others, so your love life is definitely not moving forward. And you torture yourself. You torture yourself. You choose to be in a situation where a man is narrating to you about his dates and about all the other amazing women he's dating, and you choose to stay there and listen to that. Yeah. So you are not doing yourself a favor, because over time, your self-esteem is going to fall. Because he's not going to turn around unless you do. You change the way you have been showing up. You change the way you have been, you know, been in the interaction with him, which is right now buddy. And I'm going to tell you how to choose, how to turn it around into queen and diva versus the buddy woman. But really, you're there because you're hopeful. You're hanging on to hope. You're hanging onto potential. And once you do the Wunder Work and you understand how men's brains operate, you will realize that you can never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever convert or change a man's opinion about you by being the buddy woman and being the woman that is always there for him and doing everything for him and being his helper and being his fixer, and being the one he talks to for 3 hours at night while he dates other women. You will never be able to jump into the next level, into the new level, by doing the behaviors that you are doing right now. Hey, Mala! So lovely to see you. Hello, hello, everyone who's joining. How fun to have all of you here. Make sure if you're watching this live or even on that you leave a comment, send us some hearts, like this video. Please like this video if it's helpful because it shows me through your feedback whether this is helping you, and if it is, then I'm more than happy to come back and do more of these for all of you, where you send in your questions and we can answer them on this format. Can't do it for 50,000 people, but I can definitely do it for a few, and I'm sure it's gonna to help many of you, because guess what? At a human level, we all have the same fears, we all have the same challenges. So we really, really learn, not just when our own question gets answered, but when our friend's question or another Diva's question gets answered. So, hey, hello, hello, hello, everyone. All right, so why are you there? You're there because you hope things will get better by being his friend. I want to break this myth. I want to bust this myth. You cannot, cannot, change a man's opinion about you, change his level of attraction towards you, shift his level of attraction towards you by being the available buddy, fixer, helper girl in his life. Now, if this is clear, and why is it that you can't change it? You can't change it because it's inauthentic. It's inauthentic what you're doing. It's inauthentic. You see, all of this work is about empowering you to own your most authentic self and to live your life from your most high-value, high-self-esteem, healthy place. When you try to be someone you're not, or try to adjust yourself for a man, or try to be his friend, even though you have more feelings for him, you're just outright being inauthentic. Inauthentic doesn't work in love. You see, as your soul, your soul, you're a magnificent divine being, and your soul has a signature in the universe. It's so important that you live that signature in the world. Every time you tone your truth down, and you stuff it down, and you start to manipulate and control the situation with a man, you're just being inauthentic. Inauthentic is never the way you can attract your soulmate, Because your soulmate is, by definition, a mate for your soul. And when you are not allowing yourself to live your truth in the world and to be honest with yourself, then you are not going to attract that match that is a match for your truth. So it's never going to work on men when you are being inauthentic, because you can't attract a man by being someone you are not. So you're owning your truth and being honest to yourself is the first thing that you owe to yourself and to him, who thinks you're a friend, but you actually have more feelings for him. All right, so number 4, what should you do? Now that you have understood the following 3 points, the first one was the difference between romantic relationships and friendship, which is platonic. The second one being, Friendship can shift to love. Happens all the time with my clients, but not if only you want it. You have to be willing to accept that you can't control, force, push a man into loving you. By the way, so many of you are joining us live. I would love to hear from you in the comments, and I would love to hear if this is resonating. Just write a 1 if it's resonating. Because I know you are so engrossed in watching and listening that it can be sometimes hard to comment. But I would just love a little feedback, a little response. Write hurrah, write one, so that I know it is resonating. You're also very welcome to share your own feelings about the situation and just, you know, be a community. I love it when My Diva clients interact with me. So just go ahead and write whatever comes up for you and in your heart. As I said, the first one was, romantic is not friendship. Romantic is not friendship. Number 2, friendship can turn to love, but only if both parties want it. The way you are behaving right now, by being available, being there, is not going to turn him around. So you definitely understand that you have to stop doing what you're doing, which is Friendship and buddy. Thirdly, we said, why do you stay there? Because you're hopeful and you want it to work, and so you're staying there. But don't beat yourself about it. Don't beat yourself about it, Donna. You can do this. Okay, so number 4 is, what can you do in this situation? So as I said, being authentic and being honest With him, but first with yourself, is the most important thing, right? So I would recommend in this case, whenever he calls you next time for his 3-hour-long call to tell you everything about all the women he's dating, I want you to be honest with him. I know it's bold. I know it's totally out of your comfort zone. Probably you've never done it before, but that's what the Wunderwork is It's about doing new things. It's about new choices, because new choices create new results, and that's what we're going for. We're going for new results. So the first thing I want you to say to him is, Hey, hey, hey, stop! I want to be honest with you. While I really cherish you as a friend, I realize I have more than friendship feelings for you, and I am completely okay with the fact that you don't feel the same way, but I'm not willing to be in this situation with you anymore because I feel like I'm not being honest to myself. Okay. Okay? So it's very powerful. As you can hear right now, you probably feel goosebumps just hearing me talk, because that's how powerful authenticity and truth is. It really touches people. And he's going to hear it. He may try to convince you you're going nuts, and we're the best of friends, and how can you do this? You really want to cut all contact, and you want to let him know that, you know, it is painful, it is heartbreaking for both of you, but it's really important to you that you do the right thing for yourself now. So you're going to cut all contact, and you're going to let him know this way, the script I just gave you. Now, what does this do? And why do I make you— recommend that you do this? Not make you do this, that sounds very, you should do this, and that's not why. That's not how I work in my coaching. It's, of course, at the end of the day, your choice. But I'm showing you what works. What works and how high-value behaviors work. So you be honest, you say the script, and you cut all contact. You go cold turkey, even though he will try to manipulate and make you stay there as a friend without giving you more. Now, it does 2 things. The first thing it does is that it's giving him the space to process his relationship with you. If there is anything within him that has felt romantically attracted to you, he will now have the space to process that, because this situation with you is going to move him. It's going to make him think way more about you than he's ever thought in the last 1 year. Yeah. So if there's any iota of romance feelings within him, this is going to give him the space to process that and come back to you. It's happened to my clients. It's happened so many times that it's— but I wouldn't want to say it will always happen, right? Because that would say, do this and get this result. This is not how this coaching works, because you really can't control a man into loving you and liking you. But it's giving— doing this is going to give him the space he needs to process what he really feels about you. It's also going to give him the space to miss you, which is a Obviously, not there when you're constantly there and constantly present and playing the friendship buddy girl. Second thing this will do is that it's going to honor you. Hurrah! How valuable is that? This work that I teach is all about you stepping into your power and being the highest version, most attractive, desirable, irresistible, sexy, feminine, soft, inviting version of yourself. Yeah. So this is a huge win. This is a huge win by itself if you can honor yourself like this in this situation. And it's a win-win. If there is space for him to come back into your life, you have created that space by going away from his life. You have given him that opportunity. And if he is really not supposed to be your soulmate and romantic mate because he doesn't choose you, then you, girl, you lovely, lovely lady, my Diva clients, my amazing entrepreneurs and leaders and businesswomen that I work with, you have made space in your life for your real Soulmate to come in. Because till you are emotionally entangled with such a person, and emotionally entangled with such a person so intensely, literally, it seems like you talk to him day and night, Then there is no space in your life for that real Soulmate to step in. So you win either way. You either move on and you attract your real Soulmate, which is what I help women with, and we have a terrific record. We are just celebrating engagement number 124. It's actually my assistant Sandra. Hurrah! Who just got engaged this Saturday. It's a very special engagement because she's been my assistant now for 3 years, and I coached her on intimacy fears. She was initially a private client of mine, so it's a very, very happy day here at Wunder Divas. We still haven't announced it in our private group. By the way, if you're not part of our private group, you definitely want to be there. You will find it as a link above, so very welcome to join us. And this is what I help women with, but you cannot attract soulmate love by still being emotionally entangled with someone like this particular man. So this is about having the courage to be honest with yourself, having the courage to be honest with men, this man, any man, living your most authentic life. And when you start approaching this work from this perspective, it really shifts your life powerfully. Let me know in the comments if this resonated. I hope this was helpful, and you are welcome to join my private Facebook group. Please do leave a feedback comment if this resonated, if this helped you. It's going to help me gauge the level of interest there is in these kinds of situations, and I am going to be more than happy to to come here more often and help you out. And last but not the least, please make sure you like this video, share this video with your girlfriend if you think she is in this situation and it can help her, and reach out if you believe I can help you attract your Soulmate, because I can. I totally can. And you can too. Okay? You can too. You just need to be brave. You need to embrace new choices. All right, my loves, this is Sami Wunder, dating and relationship coach for the wildly successful woman to become wildly successful at love, and I am signing off for now. Thank you so much for joining in and for your attention. Lots of love. Bye-bye!
