How to Stop Obsessing Over a Man (Very Powerful!)

In this solo coaching video, love expert Sami Wunder explains why women become obsessed with men who don’t reciprocate attention and offers a roadmap to break the cycle. She frames obsession as the result of an "off" love‑choosing compass that stems from childhood wounds—abandonment, rejection, and feeling not good enough—and from emotional unavailability that drives women to live in fantasy rather than pursue real, available partners. Wunder describes how these wounds trigger compulsive checking of social media, endless messaging, and a desperate need for validation. The solution she proposes is inner work: cultivating self‑love, restoring self‑worth, and becoming emotionally available for a healthy relationship. She outlines her ELEVATE program’s first two modules—Module 1 (taking your power back) and Module 2 (healing your heart through self‑worth)—as concrete steps to reclaim agency, stop the obsessive pattern, and attract a partner who truly values you. The video ends with a call to like, comment, and book a diagnostic call for personalized support.

So today we're talking about what to do when you're feeling obsessed with a man. Now, if you're feeling obsessed with a guy, it's most likely because he's not giving you the attention you desire from him. Now, this is a huge problem in the Sami Wunder world. As a love expert and as a woman who's taught healthy love and relationships for over a decade now, I can tell you that you need to pay special attention to your love-choosing compass, your radar, because your radar is off right now. You are basically feeling Feeling anxious, feeling insecure, walking on eggshells, and obsessing with a guy who is not that into you. Now, this is a tender and delicate place, and I'm completely aware of that. So it is my request and my desire that you do not use this information against yourself, but that you are kind and compassionate and gentle with yourself as you listen to this video, where I'm going to be exploring what could possibly be going on for you in your mind when you are obsessed with a guy who's not into you. And if you were to work with us in ELEVATE, what would be the approach we would take with you? So now let's talk about what is feeling obsessed with somebody. Feeling obsessed with somebody is just giving an undue amount of mind space and headspace to a man. Usually, you do this as a woman when a man is not giving you the attention, communication, time that you desire from him. Now, in a healthy Love Compass, which is what we teach inside ELEVATE, we would get disinterested in such a man. A healthy woman with a healthy sense of self-esteem, who loves herself and who knows her value, over time gets disinterested in men who are not making an effort for her, disinterested in men who are not communicating enough, who are not spending enough quality time with her. However, if you've had a childhood where your primary caregivers were mostly absent or emotionally unavailable, It is quite possible that your Love Compass is off, which basically means, even when a man is not present in your life in a healthy way, there is a part of you that feels like, if only you worked harder, or sent him more messages, or thought about him all day long, and showed him how much you love him, this person will convert and change their attitude towards you. Now, this is what spells disaster for even the most amazing women in their romantic relationships, because it sets you up for a path of pain, despair, and sadness, Because you are literally pouring all of your attention and energy into somebody who's not that into you. Now, if you find yourself getting obsessed with a guy who's not that into you, it is quite likely that you are also emotionally unavailable yourself at some level, which means that you like to live in a fantasy world in your head, and you create stories in your head about what this could be if only he would turn around and pay attention to me, and who we could be if we were spending time together. But it's all a fantasy that you are living in your head, And none of it is going on in real life. And usually, this is a sign of emotional unavailability, even on our parts, that we need to work on healing, because we are so much more comfortable living in our heads and living in the imaginary world of building a story with somebody in our heads that is just not real, instead of putting ourselves out there and dating real men who are available to take us out, to spend time with us, and to actually give us a true commitment. So for those of us who are emotionally unavailable, a man who's ready to fully commit actually feels very scary and intimidating versus like a healthy option. And we would rather obsess with somebody in our heads who is not emotionally present in physical life for us, because that is a match for our lack of emotional availability for a real relationship. So this is so interesting because, again, it comes back to doing the inner work. Doing the inner work to be fully emotionally available For a real relationship yourself. Because if you are obsessing with somebody who's not into you, then you are spending sometimes weeks, sometimes months, and sometimes, sadly, even years living out a fantasy in your head, living in pain, living in misery, living in despair, and not really loving yourself. Because if we love ourselves, if we like ourselves, if we're nice to ourselves, and if we believe we deserve better, we will not be wasting our time being around somebody who's not giving us attention. Now, let's also look at why it is so hard to get rid of this obsessive streak that comes up towards a guy. Usually, it happens because when a man is not present for a woman in a healthy way, in action, in words, what starts to happen is that he triggers all of her childhood wounds. Now, primarily in romance, these wounds look like the wound of abandonment, the wound of rejection, and the wound of not being good enough. So let me speak into each of these wounds, because once these wounds are activated, we become like little helpless girls, and we're just not able to emotionally self-regulate, to understand that this man is actually not healthy for us, and we should not keep moving in the direction which is causing us pain. But because all of those wounds and those emotions feel so familiar to us, we sort of keep getting drawn back to it, because the mind is used to getting drawn back into what feels familiar to it, even if it's not in your best self-interest. So when you are feeling obsessive about somebody, the wound of abandonment is triggered. And basically, this wound of abandonment is, you're not texting me, you're not calling me, are you going to leave me? And if you're going to leave me, I will not be able to survive it. And so I need you, I need you. And therefore, this can result in obsessively checking their Instagram, obsessively checking their WhatsApp, obsessively following what they're posting on social media, and maybe sometimes even obsessively pursuing the guy, texting, calling, and sort of trying to make the relationship work. Now, the wound of rejection and the wound of not being good enough are very similar wounds. It's basically when a man is not that into you and you're obsessing over him and you want his attention at any cost, it's because you're feeling rejection. And his lack of effort towards you and his lack of being into you is making you feel that this is personal to you. So you have this feeling, am I good enough or not? Is he rejecting me? Why is he rejecting me? Am I not beautiful enough? Am I not young enough? Am I not smart enough? Why doesn't he move towards me? And so, even though a man's actions and what he's doing or not doing mean nothing about our worth, in that moment, it can feel as though this is really personal. And when it feels so personal, and when it feels like we're not good enough for a man's love, again, those triggers and those emotions can cause us to pursue, chase, and get obsessed with this person who's not really present in our lives. So if you're going through this right now, how can we help you? Well, inside ELEVATE, you know, in the Love Success Framework, which is a very comprehensive, revolutionary, unique framework that I created myself when it comes to helping women heal their hearts, heal their self-worth, and attract healthy men from a polarity-based foundation, which means women embodying feminine energy to attract healthy, empowered masculine men. So in ELEVATE, Module 1 and Module 2 will be really powerful for you. In Module 1, we talk about taking your power back. When a man makes you miserable this way, my dear, you have lost your power. And sometimes when we have painful childhoods or lack of healthy role models and love in our childhood, we can keep getting drawn to painful situations and painful dynamics with men. And this is where we constantly keep losing our power and keep losing a lot of time in these basically BS dynamics with men, where we're not being treated well. And so in Module 1 of ELEVATE, I talk about taking your power back, taking it back from every man who has made you feel less than, who has made you feel that you're not good enough, who has made you feel like he can just give you breadcrumbs of attention and somehow you will still be there. And it's okay that you were in these situations, but you can say no to them now. Basically, take your power back by understanding that no person, no man, holds the key to your self-respect, holds the key to your self-esteem, and definitely does not hold the key to your happiness. Module 2 of ELEVATE is all about helping you heal your heart through self-love and self-worth, and cultivating a solid sense of, I am enough. Now, this is healing, right? Because it is impossible You can't have a healthy, loving relationship without deeply loving yourself. And the act of obsessing with a man who's not into you is an act of deep self-abandonment. This person and their absence keeps making you miserable, but somehow you keep gifting them all your attention and all your energy. And this is where the healing needs to happen. This is where you need to love yourself more, and you need to choose your peace and your happiness over and above your desire and your addiction to this Finally, I want to finish this video by saying that soulmate love, healthy love, feels good. And every time we find ourselves in painful dynamics with men, instead of asking the question, what is wrong with me? Why can't he pay me attention? Why can't I get him to give me the love I want? Ask yourself, why am I putting up with this? I deserve better. I deserve a man who is into me. I deserve the whole meal. I deserve a man who sees how amazing I am, just the way I see how amazing I am. If this video was helpful, give me a quick like, leave me a comment. Have you felt obsessed with somebody?
