Sad Truths About Low Effort Men (I'd share if you were my daughter)

In this coaching video, dating expert Sami Wunder outlines five "sad truths" about low‑effort men that she would share with her own daughter to help women protect their hearts and avoid wasted time. She explains that low‑effort men typically (1) waste a woman's time by avoiding commitment and dragging out the relationship, (2) refuse to change their problematic behaviors even when asked, (3) survive on the bare‑minimum of attention and communication—often giving "breadcrumbs" to keep a woman hooked, (4) take far more from a partner than they give, especially exploiting women who over‑give, and (5) make women doubt themselves through gaslighting and shifting blame. Throughout, she frames these points as warning signs for women seeking long‑term, marriage‑oriented relationships, offers practical observations to spot these patterns, and encourages viewers to stop feeding such dynamics. The video concludes with a call‑to‑action to join her free three‑day "Get The Love You Desire" challenge and to engage with the channel (like, comment, subscribe).

Today, let's talk about the 5 sad truths about low-effort men that I would share with you if you were my daughter. Now, I'm not sharing these truths to scare you. I'm not sharing these truths to make you feel depressed about guys. I am sharing this truth so that you can protect your heart from the wrong man. Believe it or not, as a dating and relationship coach who's been doing this for the last 10 years, I see so many amazing women waste their time on low-effort men. My desire with this video is to help you understand what kind of man you want to avoid, because trust me, these exist in huge numbers out there in the dating market. The first sad truth about low-effort men is that they are time wasters. In other words, if you're a woman who is looking to have a man or a relationship which progresses to marriage, which progresses to long-term commitment, which progresses to children and family, low-effort men are going to truly waste your time when it comes to this goal, because they can drag out the connection with a woman, not just for weeks, not just for months, but for years. Inside ELEVATE, I have seen some of my clients hold out for men for men to offer commitment, for men to offer the proposal for years. This is a very painful situation to be in, because there is a part of you that always hopes and believes that you're going to be the special woman he's going to change his mind for. You're going to be the special woman that's going to ultimately inspire him to give you the commitment you desire. But that is not the intention of a low-effort man. The intention of a low-effort man is to just keep you hooked and keep wasting your time. I don't think it always comes from a malicious space. So I do want to give these men that much grace to say that if they are avoidant in their attachment, if they are avoidant-dismissive in their attachment, if they have major intimacy and commitment fears and they haven't done the work— like they're not going to a therapist, they're not going to a coach— then most of these men are not going to be wasting your time on purpose. It's just that whenever things get serious or whenever things are supposed to be moving forward, his internal coping mechanism is going to make him stop in his tracks, and it's going to prevent him from committing to you and taking things to the next level. So low-effort men are time wasters. And if you are seeing that a guy just doesn't seem to talk about where the relationship is going within a few months, and then if you are in a relationship and then he doesn't talk about proposal, commitment, marriage within the first year and a half, that is a very bad sign. Now, the second sign of a low-effort man is that they don't change for love. Let's face it, no matter who you meet, they're going to have some kind of flaws within themselves. When they come across you, no matter how much they love you, they're going to behave in ways that disappoint you. Maybe they come late sometimes, maybe they tend to have a temper sometimes in the relationship. When you ask a low-effort man to change for you— and let's face it, some kind of compromise, some kind of middle ground has to be found in all relationships— this kind of man is never going to make the effort to change. Now, he might tell you through his words, okay, I hear you. I promise I'm going to try and do better. But in real life, you will see he will not change. He will keep giving you the same behavior till you get frustrated and either walk out on him or dump him or break up with him. Now, of course, there are different levels of change that we might want to see in a man. We're not talking about attracting men that you feel like are your project and you have to do all this work to change them. But we're talking about that healthy requirement of change in a connection, where no matter what kind of 2 people come together, they have to talk with each other about disappointments. They have to talk with each other about habits that don't work for each other. This is where a low-effort man will never make that real effort to change something. You will see that he might promise you in his words, but his actions do not display his commitment to change, and therefore, to your connection with him. Now, sad truth about low-effort men that I would tell you if you were my daughter is that they thrive on bare minimum. And their only desire is to keep you hooked. Such men are the reason why we have so many videos on YouTube, including myself, on what to do if a man is giving you mixed signals, what to do with a hot and cold man, because these kinds of men, they hate letting you go. They are going to do the bare minimum, drop the bare minimum attention, text you bare minimum, ask you out once a month or something, Just to keep you confused and just to keep you hooked. You see, men really suffer when they do not have a beautiful woman's validation in their life. So as a woman, when you respond to his bare minimum texts, when you say yes to his bare minimum inconsistent offers of dates, his mind goes, okay, cool, she's hooked. She's still here. She's responding to my texts. She's not ignoring me. She's still ready to go out with me, even though I just ask her once a month, or even worse, ask her for a date once in 6 weeks, even though I am so sporadic with my communication. The thing with these men is that they are not necessarily seeking a real connection. They're not necessarily seeking a real relationship. What they are seeking is validation and attention, and they think they can come and go on their own timing because, as a woman, you still keep engaging. So if you were my daughter, or you were my client inside ELEVATE, I would tell you, notice when a man is giving you the bare minimum. Notice when a man is just saying good morning, good night, and not really asking you out on real dates, and not really staying in touch with you in between the dates, and taking long periods of time to get back to your text, taking 5 days, 6 days to even have a basic momentum going on texts. Notice this inconsistency, because it is not normal and it is not healthy, and I don't want you to think it's normal, and I don't want you to keep engaging with it, because if you engage with it, you literally tell the guy, this is all I need, this is all I deserve, and you can just keep giving me these breadcrumbs and I will keep engaging with you. So pull back your attention, pull back your validation, stop texting, stop engaging with men who are giving you the bare Now, sign number 4, sad truth about low-effort men, is that they will take all they can from you without giving much back in return. Now, this is a very dangerous trap for women who are over-givers, or women who try to win love by giving. I'm going to be talking about this in my brand new challenge, Get The Love You Desire, which is happening, by the way, from the 1st of Feb to the 3rd of Feb. So make sure you click the link in the description and Join my 3-day challenge. It's going to be completely free. But the idea here is that if you're an overgiver or you're somebody who likes to win a man through giving, these low-effort men love that. In fact, the more giving you are, the more caring you are, the more attention you give him, the more gifts you give him, the more you are happy to plan the date, cook for him, invite him, get the wine, The more he's going to be happy engaging with you, because it costs him nothing. Remember, this is a low-effort man, and low-effort men love high-effort women, and they will take all you have to offer without giving much in return. That's why it's actually a very sensible thing inside of a romantic dynamic to ask yourself, am I the only one feeding this dynamic? If I let this go, What would this man do by himself to foster our connection, to continue our connection? And if I stopped doing all this giving and doing in order to keep this man in my life, would he still be interested in investing in this connection, and would he step up and give more to me? Usually, that question is extremely clarifying and gives you all the clarity you need to understand whether you're dealing with a low-effort man, a man who's just there because it's convenient, a man who's just there because, well, It's easy to receive from a woman, but he doesn't pour back and he doesn't give you much in return. Now, sign number 5, sad truth about low-effort men, is that they'll make you doubt yourself. You see, when you're dealing with a low-effort man, at some point or another, you're going to start feeling anxious. Maybe it's really early on in the dating process, maybe it's taken some time to get there for you to wake up, But the fact of the matter is that when a man is not consistent, when a man is not pouring into you as a woman, when a man is not making the consistent effort to plan dates, to take you out, to spoil you, to impress you, to communicate with you, to tell you that he's thinking of you, then at some point or another, you're going to get resentful, you're going to get angry, you're going to start feeling like, what is this and where is this going? But guess what? It's never going to be his fault. If you bring this up, you're going to be the one who is going to end up doubting herself, because he is just going to put it back on you. You see, just by saying, I want more, never in the history of romantic dynamics have men just given more when a woman has said, I want more. Basically, when you're dealing with a low-effort man and you call him out and you say, hey, I've been doing all this work. I feel like I plan the dates. I feel like if I don't text you, nothing happens. He's just going to come back and make you doubt yourself. He's going to go, but that's not true. Remember, 6 weeks ago, I also asked you out for a date? Or, remember, on Valentine's Day, I sent you that text, Happy Valentine's Day, whereas you didn't send me the text first. So he's going to make you think that you're the crazy one. And this is so important for me that you know, as a woman, that when you're with a healthy, empowered, loving, masculine man who likes you, He celebrates you. Literally, he celebrates you. He celebrates all of who you are. He celebrates your imperfections. He celebrates your quirks. He celebrates your little crazy aspects. He never makes you feel like you're crazy. He never makes you feel like you have to doubt yourself. And I think those of us who don't have healthy role models in love, When a man makes us doubt ourselves, we end up asking ourselves the question, am I right? Am I wrong? Am I doing this wrong here? But for me, that is a sign that you're with the wrong person. When you're asking those questions, when you're feeling like you're walking on eggshells, when you're feeling like you have to ask yourself the question, where am I going wrong and what am I doing wrong here? You are with the wrong guy. Those are the 5 sad truths about low-effort men, and if you see them in a man, it is best acknowledged, admitted, and avoided in dating.
