The Psychology of Men (When He Ignores You)

In this video, dating coach Sami Wunder explains that a man who ignores a woman is never acting normally; his behavior signals an underlying issue. She outlines three primary scenarios: (1) the man simply lacks romantic interest, so his silence reflects disinterest; (2) the man previously showed interest but his effort wanes, which can stem from (a) an unconscious test to see if the woman will chase him—a sign of emotional immaturity—or (b) a resource‑oriented strategy where the woman is a side‑chick while the man invests in a primary partner; (3) the man is emotionally mature and intentionally withdrawing due to conflict, commitment doubts, or a reassessment of the relationship. Wunder stresses that women should never chase, should maintain high self‑esteem and boundaries, and let a man decide to return on his own volition. She ties the advice to her proprietary coaching tools—the Love Success Framework, the ELEVATE program, and a free Love Blocks Quiz—encouraging viewers to seek higher‑quality, intentional partners.

When a man ignores you, it is not normal. Something is definitely off, because in a world of healthy masculine men, no man who is truly interested in a woman ignores that woman. It goes against basic male psychology. So if a man is ignoring your texts, ignoring your calls, and ignoring you on social media altogether, let's figure out the 3 most common scenarios Why this happens. Now, the first one is actually the easiest explanation, but it might sting a little. He is not romantically interested in you. I know women have a lot of emotions in the dating process, and sometimes we might have fantasized about a man, we might have projected stuff on a man, we might have thought he's interested in us. Maybe there was a little flirt at a party, maybe there was some nice banter back and forth, but then if he stopped picking your calls or answering your texts, that is your answer. He is not romantically interested. I do this for a living as a dating and relationship coach, and I can't tell you how simple men are to read. And men are literally not half as strategic in the dating process as women give them credit to be. And so if a guy is ignoring your texts, he's not answering your calls, he's not engaging with you on social media, you are not in his periphery. You are not in his mind. Because when a man is interested in a woman, he is going to text you, he's going to call you, he's going to show interest in you. It goes against his basic nature to ignore you. So in your scenario, could this be happening, that you like this person and you would have hoped or thought that they're interested in you romantically? But if they're ignoring you, they're probably not that into you. And there's an amazing man out there who's going to love you for who you are and give you the attention you deserve. So probably this would mean it's time to move on. Now, the second scenario gets A little more tricky, and the last one is actually the most interesting and revealing. Now, the second scenario is where a man has shown interest in the past, but now his effort is dwindling and he is starting to ignore your texts or ignore your calls. Now, this is different from the first scenario because in this context, he's actually given you signs and action to show that there's something romantic between the two of you. While the first scenario was fantasyland, Disneyland projection, The second scenario is, you have actual evidence that this guy is interested in you. Maybe he's taken you out on a few dates. Maybe he was coming on strong, and now suddenly, after you sent him 1 or 2 texts, his effort has totally dwindled down. So this is scenario #2. Now here, a couple of things could be happening. So the first thing that could be happening is that he is starting to feel something for you, and he is not sure about his feelings. So in In dating land, let's just accept it, most men are rotational dating. That is why it is Pillar 4 of my Love Success Framework that I teach my clients inside ELEVATE. And basically, what happens is that when a man is ignoring your texts, he is subconsciously testing whether or not you're going to chase him. Like, whether or not does he have you? Does he have your attention? Has he got you emotionally hooked? I know it's sad to hear, by the way, but this is where I would say this kind of man who does this kind of test on a woman is actually emotionally immature. Because if you are a woman with a high self-esteem, and if you did it, for example, on somebody like me, I would just lose interest. I would lose interest in a man who's trying to test whether I'm going to chase him or not. Because if I'm an emotionally available single woman, I am looking to get married, build something intentional, then these kinds of games are not going to make me double down my effort and chase, it's instead going to make me lose interest in the guy. But let's just say, emotionally immature men, and sometimes emotionally immature women, will get hooked with these dynamics. So the most important thing to not do in this scenario is to make more effort, which is what a lot of women who haven't done the inner work do in these scenarios. When a man ignores them, They see that as a sign to double up effort, to send more texts. And that is actually you failing the test, if there is a test that you want to pass here, or not. But if you want to pass the test, you don't want to chase. You don't want to double up your effort when somebody is reducing their effort. And the second scenario here could be that this person is not only dating multiple people, but they are using you as a side chick, which means there is a main chick, there is a main girl who is the point of his interest. And he is now getting more and more hooked with that main girl. He's investing his time, energy, money, resources into that main girl, and you are being left on read and you are being ignored. Now, the only thing you need to know about this situation is that men are extremely resource-oriented in dating. And this basically means that a man knows that he has limited time, limited energy, limited amount of money, and he wants to invest it in the person that he wants the most Validation, physical affection, time from. So it's not very uncommon to see that men will have one main chick they will invest in, and then 1 or 2 or even 3 placeholders, in case the main chick doesn't work out, then they can get easy reentry back to the side chicks. So in this scenario, I would say that if a guy is ignoring you, he's literally taking the risk to lose you, because every man understands that if a woman has high self-esteem, And she has options in the market, which is, she's the prize, she's in demand, then if he ignores your text and you have healthy self-esteem, you're going to get bored, you're going to get disinterested, you're going to move on. So he's literally taking the risk and assuming it's going to be okay to ignore you. Well, I very much hope, in your interest, it's not okay for him to ignore you and that you move on to better prospects who actually treat you as the gold that you are and make the time, intention, and effort. To respond. We're in a day and age where literally everyone's on their phones, and there's absolutely no reason to take 7 days to respond to a woman that you like. It makes no sense. And the less tolerable you make this for yourself, the higher self-esteem you'll have in dating, the higher boundaries you'll have in dating, and the better quality men who treat you better will be attracted to you in dating. Now, the last scenario is of the emotionally mature man Who is ignoring you? And again, this is the context where there is a romantic interest in you. By the way, if you haven't taken my Love Blocks Quiz, it's a completely free resource and diagnostic tool where you can answer a few quick questions for free and understand the exact reasons why you're still single, using my revolutionary 6-pillar Love Success Framework. The link to take the free quiz is in the video description below. So in the case of the emotionally mature man who is ignoring you, we're going to assume there is a context of previous interest. This man is not playing games. So this is the difference between emotionally mature men and emotionally immature men. Emotionally immature men will play games subconsciously sometimes, because they're not self-aware enough to understand why they behave the way they behave. It's all very in-the-moment kind of life and flow and behavior, whereas an emotionally mature man is an intentional creator. His behaviors are thought through, for the most part. And so, if such a man who truly likes you and with whom you've had a good romantic context, and he suddenly starts to ignore you, now I'm going to be curious about what just happened. What happened that has made this man withdraw, so to speak. Usually, in my experience— I've been doing this for over 10 years now, seen thousands of case studies inside ELEVATE— it's either something like a fight or a conflict that has made him doubt the relationship. It could also be his own understanding of the relationship, what the relationship requires from him. So sometimes, even with an emotionally mature man, You will get to a point where the relationship becomes really serious. It's no longer just fun, joy, we're having a good time. It's like, oh my God, she's actually wife material. Oh my God, she's actually saying that she's not going to sleep with me until we are engaged. Do I want a relationship like that? It's literally happening to one of our ELEVATE clients right now. And here's what I'm going to say to this. It is so important that you don't get into fear, you don't get too over-functioning, you don't start sending texts like, what did I do wrong? Is it something I said? I'm I'm so sorry. What happened? Do you want to talk? You take a deep breath, Sami Wunder style, and you surrender to the Masculine. You give up control in this situation, and you understand that you actually have the most power and most influence in these situations when a man, out of his own free will, comes back to you, out of his own free desire, comes back to you, has thought through why he wants to be with you and whether or not he actually wants to be with you. So in this scenario, as you see in all 3 scenarios, there's literally never a reason for a woman to chase a guy. If he's an empowered, masculine man and there is romantic context and there is romantic interest, I want you to know that if a guy is ignoring you, he has a reason for it. And it is in your favor to let him figure out the reason, to let him come back or not come back out of his own choice. And you, my dear, will always only win by aligning yourself repeatedly with men who choose you in a very active way, who take action, who show up in your life. And you also have to develop the ability to let people think and be whoever they want to think and be, because you don't want to control somebody else's process. You want to show up as the most empowered version of yourself. This is what we teach our clients in ELEVATE. And then you want guys to self-select or deselect. And your job is to receive good effort, receive attention, and to not get hooked by men who play hot and cold or disappear without an explanation. And when men come back, and sometimes men come back with different reasons for their absence, that is the conversation for another video. But his reason better be good enough, and we then decide whether we want to continue the connection or not. But for now, if a man is ignoring you, shift your focus. Remember, you're the prize, and let him do the work and make his choice of coming back to you. If this video was helpful, show me your love. It means a lot to me.
