And the reason why they're called intimate relationships is because they require you to be intimate or really close with another person. But it's very difficult and very challenging to be intimate and close with another person without being intimate and close with yourself first. And so intimacy— I like in my work, in my programs, I like to say, into me you see. Intimacy is into me you see. And if you are seeing into me in an intimate relationship, I need to have done my inner work so that I like myself. I am comfortable letting you see my imperfections.
