You hit a good shot but stay frozen watching it instead of moving to your next position. Decide instantly: move forward to attack if you've got time, or retreat to a base position to defend. The Padel School builds training around positioning so you're never caught out of place.

If you are finding that you are hitting a good shot and you are still getting caught out of position, it's almost always down to the reposition after the shot. Players are so focused on their actual shot, they don't think about where they need to be on the court. As soon as you've hit, you want it so that you start thinking about, is that a good shot? Okay, let's go in and go to my next position. If it's a bad shot in the lob, I might recover and reposition myself here. But you've got to think about moving yourself to that next court position straight away, particularly in this zone. Don't get stuck in this zone because you hit a shot and you're just watching where the ball might go. So many players say to me, oh well, I thought the ball was going out, so I was waiting to watch to see. Just get to that next position. If you hit a ball in this zone, say to yourself, if it buys you time and you can attack, go forward. If you're going to defend, go straight back and get to one or two of these bases. And this is a major reason why for us at The Padel School, our roadmaps are built around tactics and court positioning so that you can be in a good position every time.
