Hey Tom, how hard should I be hitting my chiquitas? You want your chiquita to land at the feet of your opponent, so really you have to be hitting the shot very, very softly. It's also about the trajectory of the ball, so you want to hit it soft, but the trajectory of the ball has to be like this, so slightly more linear so that the ball dips. If you hit the ball very softly but the trajectory is high, it's going to be an easy volley. So the chiquita has to be soft, but the trajectory also has to be quite flat over the net.
