Two mistakes kill your bajada: not retreating far enough so you can't transfer your weight, and retreating without intent to attack. Step back with purpose, create space, and let your body weight do the work. Footwork is everything.

There are 2 main problems you might have with the bajada. The first is you go back but you're actually not going back far enough and your contact is behind you, and therefore you can't get your body weight into the ball. Number 2 is you go back and you don't even have the intention of attacking. The lob goes over, you come back like this, and you just prepare to scoop the ball again. What you want to do is go back with the idea to attack immediately, give yourself lots of space and go into the ball with your body weight and therefore have a wonderful bajada. The key to this shot is good footwork. We have designed the Faster Feet for Padel, which is free when you sign up to our membership. There's a 7-day free trial, so just go and check it out and see for yourself. Link is in the bio.
