A short YouTube advice video from Sandy Waggett (MSW Interactive Designs) encouraging business owners to use more video for client communication. Sandy addresses common concerns—disliking one’s appearance or not knowing what to say—by normalizing imperfections, urging authenticity, and recommending using an outline (not a script). The clip ends with a quick show-and-tell of the speaker's simple outline and a sign-off.

Good morning, everyone. Sandy Waggett here with MSW Interactive Designs. And you've probably figured out by now that in 2020, I committed to using video more often for MSW Interactive Designs and for communicating with our clients. And as I have talked with clients about using video in their own business, they usually say, well, I hate how I look or sound on video, or I don't know what to say in a video. I'd like to address two of those things. Number one, I don't like how I look or sound. First of all, everyone knows what you look like already. Everyone knows I have a big nose. Sometimes my hair is flat if the humidity is out there, sometimes it's frizzy. Everybody knows what I look like, and they also know what I sound like. And guess what? When I play back the video, I think I sound kind of weird, but that's really how I sound, unfortunately. And then the part where I don't know what to say, that's where the authenticity comes in. That's where the realness comes in. You know, as a business owner and your specialty, you're a competent professional. You have a lot to say and a lot to offer. So try to have the confidence to say it on camera and share that real authenticity and expertise with your customer base. You don't need a script. You just use an outline. That's what I do. I have an outline. I don't script out everything I'm going to say. That's what makes video powerful. That's what makes video very powerful for your messaging and for your business. It's the vulnerability of you on camera and the authenticity that you convey in your message. So that's my tip. And try to use more video in your business this year. Everybody's got a camera on their smartphone. It's easy to do. Hey, and you know what? Before I sign off, I'll show you what my script looks like. Hold on. This is it. It's just an outline of what I'm going to talk about. And then I stand here and talk. It's that easy. Sandy Waggett with MSW Interactive Designs. Have a great day.
