A short YouTube marketing tip by Sandy Wardenburg Waggett (MSW Interactive Designs) about running online ads. Main advice: design visuals and brief copy so the right people click and the wrong people keep scrolling, and continually test many ad variants (dozens) rather than declaring failure after one or two ads. Closing offers contact with MSW Interactive Designs for help.

Hey everyone, Sandy Weigt with MSW Interactive Designs. And today I'm here with another marketing tip. Do you run ads online? Here's the thing. If you do, there's only one thing that you need to do and that's to make sure that you are getting the right people to click your ad and the wrong people to keep scrolling. Get the right people to click the ad and the wrong people to keep scrolling. Scrolling. What a lot of people do with their online ads and they get it wrong is they think like it's print. With online ads, it's the visual that grabs the attention. So you want to make sure that your visual attracts the right people and doesn't attract the wrong people, so the wrong people keep scrolling. A lot of online ads are pay per click, so you don't want the wrong people clicking through your ads. It's really important to get the imagery right as well as the call to action that drives the curiosity for that click. This is a super short tip, but it will save you a ton of money. When you're thinking of the visuals, whether you're designing your own ads or someone else designing the ad for you, what does the visual say? Is it attracting the right person so the wrong person keeps scrolling? And how do they know if they're the right person or the wrong person? It comes down to the imagery and the short attention grabbing curiosity leading verbiage. It's not a long headline. Online, it's usually very short. Again, the goal, get the right people to click and the wrong people to keep scrolling because you don't want to have to pay for a click from someone who's not going to want to buy. The second and super important tip I have for you with online ads, don't run a single ad or two ads and call it a failure. With online ads, you have to test and test and test and test and you will have to test dozens and dozens of ads to find one that drives the results that you want. And then when that ad has run its course, it'll stop working and then you're gonna have to go through the process again. The fact is though that when done properly, online ads are the cheapest form of advertising that you can buy for the exposure. When they're not done right, they become some of the most expensive. So I hope this tip helps and if you would like some help or advice with your online ads, don't hesitate to contact us at MSW Interactive Designs where we put the web to work for you. Have a great day.
