What single word do people associate with your business?

Sandy Wardenburg Waggett explains the law of focus: pick one word your business owns and repeat it everywhere. Hershey owns chocolate, Domino's owns delivery. Ask your customers what word they think of when they think of you.

Good morning, everyone. Sandy Weigt here with MSW Interactive Designs. And today I'm here with another marketing tip. Today I want to talk about the law of focus, and it's one of the most powerful concepts in marketing, and it's all about what word people associate with your business. A single word. You want to have a single word that's associated with your company that you are known for in the local market and the space that you serve. So if I go to a national level, when you think Hershey, you think chocolate. When you think Domino knows, you think delivery. So you get the idea. So what's the word that people associate with your business? What word do you own in your space? And it cannot be the same word that a competitor owns. So if you don't have a word that comes to mind immediately, then you have some work to do. This weekend. I highly recommend that you start thinking about a word that you want to be known for, that you want to own in your space, and then you're going to start using that word over and over and over and over again in every single piece of marketing that you put out for MSW Interactive Designs. In our local space, the word is web. So, yes, we do marketing, but I want to be known for web because we specialize in Internet marketing. So everything I put out has to do with web. We associate the word web with MSW in our tagline and in every single one of our marketing pieces. We put the web to work for you. We don't do print. We don't do radio. We don't do newspaper. We don't do anything else. We do web. So what is the word for your business? Give it some thought, you know, and if you're not sure, ask some of your customers what one single word do they think of when they think of your business? Start using it over and over and over again. Take ownership of the word and it becomes a very powerful marketing tool. When people hear the word, they think of you. That's it. It's very simple. Sandy Waggett with MSW Interactive Designs. We put the web to work for you. Have a great day.
