111 Insurance Billing For Lyme Treatment
1 Nov 2020 · 65 min
In this Lyme Voice Network episode, host Speaker D interviews Daniel Lynch, president and co‑founder of Medical Bill Gurus, about the financial barriers chronic‑illness patients face when seeking integrative treatments such as IV therapies, hyperthermia, NAD, and glutathione. Lynch, a former structural engineer turned digital‑marketing and health‑tech entrepreneur, explains how most Lyme‑focused clinics operate on a cash‑only model and are out‑of‑network for Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, and most marketplace plans. He outlines what services are billable (doctor consults, FDA‑approved IVs, labs) versus non‑billable experimental modalities (stem‑cell infusions, bee‑venom, supplements). Medical Bill Gurus offers free case consultations and works on a contingency fee—only charging if they recover reimbursement. Lynch stresses the importance of having a private, employer‑sponsored PPO with a low out‑of‑network deductible, especially during open enrollment, and warns against cheaper marketplace plans. He announces the Medical Gurus Insurance Deposit Program, a partnership with three clinics (Brio Medical, Life Health & Research Center, and Nazoni Functional Medicine) that lets qualifying patients pay a $5‑10 k upfront deposit while the insurer reimburses the remainder, dramatically lowering out‑of‑pocket costs. The conversation also dives into the clinical protocols at these centers—full‑body hyperthermia (closed‑system wetsuit, pre‑workout smoothie, PEMF, G‑Force lymphatic drainage, NASA‑derived tech), photobiomodulation (Prism/Novathor), and other energy‑based therapies—describing the physiological rationale and patient experiences. Throughout, Lynch emphasizes empathy, his personal motivation after his father’s death, and a mission to make integrative care financially accessible through competition, innovative business models, and patient advocacy. He also shares his political views on healthcare reform, arguing that Medicare for All is not viable and advocating for increased competition among insurers, including tech‑company entrants. He mentions potential future innovations like blockchain and crypto‑based billing solutions. The episode ends with a call to action: listeners should check their insurance, consider employer‑sponsored PPOs, and contact Medical Bill Gurus at 1‑800‑674‑7836 for pro‑bono assistance.

I just think back, like, when I was younger, I had childhood where, you know, I had a loving family, but, you know, this chronic illness, when it hits, and mental illness hits, it just instills experiences in you that change you, you know? And I remember just certain experiences and moments where, you know, I just had some instinctive feeling, that hopeless feeling, that helplessness, that why can't I, why can't I make change? Why can't I get things? And just trying to always just understand and I don't really feel like I figured out what my mission was, but when my dad passed away a couple of years ago, I just quit my engineering job and I just started like—

Welcome, welcome, welcome to another episode of Lyme Voice. Today with me is Daniel Lynch, president and co-founder of Medical Bill Gurus. Some of you may have remembered him from a previous episode. I am so glad to have him back. He's originally a structural engineer turned self-taught digital marketing full-stack developer. Daniel is passionate about leveraging technology to help streamline processes and create innovative solutions to take on the financial complexities surrounding healthcare each day for patients and medical professionals of all backgrounds. As all of you guys know, getting healthcare, healthcare issues, understanding your coverage, understanding what treatments are allowed or not allowed and may be covered is one of the single biggest issues in this community. As if we don't already have enough bajillions of issues. So Daniel is the guy I've been referring to people to for years. I know clients who have gotten tens of thousands of dollars back from his company after already paying. And so I'm so excited, Daniel, thank you for being here today and talking to us about this massive, massive, massive issue that is going on in every household of chronic illness.
Yes, yes. You know, and when we look at healthcare and, you know, outside of just even Lyme, but just in general, we have a healthcare crisis. We have people who don't understand what their insurance will or won't cover. They get chronically ill and they don't, aren't able to find affordable, accessible care to doctors who actually are focused on outcomes versus making them a lifelong treatment protocol of taking XYZ. And so at Medical Bill Gurus, I'm passionate about finding ways to help people secure insurance reimbursements for providers that are typically cash-based and do not take any insurance. And so if anybody follows me on social media with Medical Bill Gurus, I spend about 80% of my time traveling around the country and to Mexico visiting clinics and understanding the complexities of what are patients going for, what, what is ozone therapy, What is full-body hyperthermia? Why would you want to do the PK protocol if you have mycotoxins, right? And so I've gone down the rabbit hole of integrative alternative medicine and learned so much. And for being in the trenches of the IV chairs with patients, have gathered so much information about the sacrifices that are being made for patients to be able to get into that IV chair financially, personally, emotionally, professionally. The list goes on and on. And I hear horror stories every day about how patients run out of money and they can't continue to get treatment. And, you know, I work with not just Lyme patients, but I also work with a lot of cancer patients, a lot of patients who have, you know, various autoimmune chronic illness issues. And it's just, it's an epidemic, right? And, you know, I work with some of the best doctors and clinics in the country. And if we all could afford to have access to those types of treatments, I mean, there's no doubt that we would all be in a better place with our health and wellness. I mean, there's just no doubt about it. So Medical Bill Gurus, in a nutshell, we're here to be a medical billing and patient advocacy service for patients. And, what's interesting is I almost feel like I've become quite the guru of knowing all these things in this industry. And so, I'm a— You have. Like you said, I'm originally an engineer. And so, I'm fascinated by the science of why would you want to do an NAD IV for the impact of the Krebs cycle because the ATP affects your mitochondria, which affects the way that your body does certain functions and processes. And, Why would you want to do phosphatidylcholine and glutathione if you have this issue? And, and I just, I've been obsessed studying with it, and I've been so blessed that there's certain doctors who have taken me under their wing to actually bring me into consults with patients and, and actually educate me on what is going on in these clinics, right? And I've learned so much. So I, I could tell you why patients, you know, typically would want to go to Mexico or Germany because they want a particular type of treatment, right? And then I could tell you whether in the past, you know, whether or not there's anything we can bill there. Because at Medical Bill Gurus, um, I'm on a mission right now, and it's a mission to educate people because no one knows what their insurance will or won't cover. And we're never going to really be able to give you a set data point of how much money you could get back with the right insurance. But what I could tell you is that if you don't have a PPO, you understand what deductible is, um, a lot of people get put into a position where they think that the Hail Mary's coming when their treatment's over and that they're going to be able to say that this was medically necessary, that there was nowhere else I could go, that this was my only option, only to find they had no out-of-network coverage. Right. Right. And no matter how emotional you get with thinking you're going to sue the insurance company, it's very much a matter of, well, they could say that you did not have the PPO plan with out-of-network coverage. And medically necessary is in the cases of like, you know, you're having a heart attack, right? And you have to go to a hospital and the hospital's not networked. They're always going to cover stuff like that. But if you're traveling to Scottsdale, Arizona to go to treatment and you're planning it, they're going to say that that was not medically necessary and there was some in-network option. And so instead of trying to fight the fight on that, right, I would rather educate people before they even get into that IV chair, before they walk through the doors into that clinic, and actually tell them, have a PPO plan, just go get it. And the best ones are typically employer-sponsored, okay? The reality is that none of these clinics are going to take Medicare, Medicaid, or HMO options. They all are out-of-network medical providers. At Medical Bill Gurus, we also need to make it very clear here that we can't bill for everything that you do at the clinic. We can only bill for the FDA-approved services and the FDA-approved ancillary services here, okay? And so if you're doing something that's truly experimental or really, uh, truly alternative in nature, we may not be able to bill that out, right? But what we are going to bill out The things we can identify, such as, let's say, a doctor consult. There's nothing holistic or experimental in nature by talking to a licensed medical doctor. That's billable to the insurance. And looking at that, if we're doing IVs, what IVs are you doing? Some of them may be billable, right? Some of them may not be. You know, if you're doing $20,000 in stem cells and it's a single line item, that's, that's not billable to the insurance, right? But if you're going to the clinic every day and talking to a doctor, doing lab work, um, you know, discussing interpretations, doing IVs in a facility, right, there's different things that we can identify as being billable that we can pursue. But we're always going to follow strict guidelines that we've set. Um, we have about 20 years of experience doing this and we've never had any issues because we're very strict about only billing for what we can identify for, right? And so a lot of patients will go try to— I had someone try to have Daniel, could you bill out bee venom treatment with the bees? And I was like, no, I'm sorry, but we couldn't bill that out, right? Just like, we can't bill out like We can't build herbal things, we can't fill out, you know, supplements, right? But what we can do is we specialize in billing out treatments that are done with a medical doctor, a doctor of osteopathic medicine, and a naturopath. Those are the main ones. So for some of, for some of them, we— as long as the patient has naturopathic coverage, okay, that's the kicker here, right? Is, and then you're like, well, tell me, what is, what is naturopathic coverage? And you're going to say, well, I don't even know where that is in my policy, right? And so these are the issues that no one truly understands their policy. That is why my team at Medical Bill Gurus is here to do pro bono free case consultations and tell you whether or not you qualify for insurance reimbursements. And we are here to be your advocate. We will do that pro bono. We only have a fee if we get money back from your insurance company and we collect for you. End of story. Okay. And so at Medical Bill Gurus, I encourage every single person listening to this, if you have Lyme, someone has that you know has Lyme, I tell them, go look at your policy. And during open enrollment, I am here to help guide you on what I think is the best policy, the best option for you based on what you're thinking of doing. Okay, if you're planning to go—
go ahead, let's talk about open enrollment because that's coming up.
Yeah, exactly. So open enrollment is, you know, if you're not aware what that word means, that's the time period where you can change your insurance coverage. Okay, and so a lot of people don't realize that you can't just call your plan administrator or your insurance company one day and say, you know what, I actually want to get the PPO option. I found out I have chronic Lyme disease and I want to go spend money on treatment, right? The reality is that, that, that's not how it works. You have to, you have to do it during the right time period. So historically, that time period is October, November, December, uh, before January 2021. So if you are planning treatment in 2021, myself, my team, we are here to guide you, help you educate you on what you think the best option is. I'll tell you, never go for the cheapest plan. I recommend— everyone hates hearing this, but right now what I would recommend for you is to get the plan with the lowest out-of-network deductible and probably the highest premium. Okay? Because when you start spending a lot of money at very expensive out-of-network medical providers that are cash-based, the reality is you want to have the best coverage available because it's not going to be billed dollar for dollar. We may only be able to identify, let's say, 60% of what you spent as being billable. Your insurance is going to maybe only approve a percentage of that, right? But then the real kicker is, and this is the biggest variable cost, the factor that determines success more than anything else is the usual and customary rate that that insurance company defines for the approved line items, okay, for the approved services rendered. So for instance, if we bill out a doctor consult, which is 100% there's nothing alternative. There's nothing that's really that difficult. That's the most, like, basic thing to fill out. The reality is, is that your insurance may not be the best. It may be— if it's from, let's say, the marketplace, it's an individual plan— they may only reimburse 10% of what you spent, if that, maybe 5%, right? And what the worst part about it is, because that plan is so poorly structured for out-of-network coverage, you'll get repriced. And so instead of it being $250, they're gonna reprice it to $50, let's say, right, or $100. And then it's 50/50 coinsurance, well then that means they're only gonna cover 50% of that. And then that amount is what's applied, you know, and then we look at the deductible, right?
Yeah.
So it's this, it's the numbers, it's a numbers game, right? And so that's why when you're doing this, instead of trying to think that you're gonna be able to call the insurance company and get an actual number of how much they're gonna reimburse, the reality here is that they don't know what treatment you're gonna be doing. They're not gonna understand. They're not gonna accurately give you a number back. They're gonna tell you something, but then they have no commitment to that number 'cause there's no managed care contract in place. Place for that provider. So at Medical Bill Gurus, we are here to be your advocate. We are here to do pro bono case consultations and guide you. And I'll tell you guys, one of the benefits of, uh, working with Medical Bill Gurus— and I'm always available for anybody who calls me. I, I, I've been trying to get rid of my phone number, but I'm addicted to helping people. So I take calls.
I can attest to this. I know this because my coaching clients have been in touch with Daniel. I've been in touch with him on and off for, I think, 3 years now. The man does not stop.
Yeah, I'm, you know, so I'm taking calls at 2 AM on Saturday, 9 AM on Sunday, you know, I don't— I just, I'm addicted to helping people. And, you know, honestly, learning their testimony and their journey of what has brought them to there, so that when I have my chance to shoot my shot and I get in front of the right people, that I can advocate for the sacrifices and the experiences that they shared with me as an IV chairs and on the phone at 2 AM on Saturday. And I've had those experiences. I've run into politicians and you never know who's going to be in the back doors. But I want you to know that I hear and I know we've talked about someone who recently passed away in the Lyme community and I personally knew them, right? And it's tough because I remember talking to their family and, you know, those stories, they sit in the back of my head. And so when I take the chance to leverage my platform and, you know, it's actually interesting, we've had some— I can't really say who has contracted with Medical Book Gurus, but it's some pretty interesting people, you know what I'm saying? Like, you know, and it's amazing who's seen the value in these treatments. And so Medical Book Gurus, you know, I, I built this, this company and I built this brand on empathy. And it's just trying to imagine, just like my family was struggling, of what it was like to be in your shoes and understanding what advice I can give you, but being completely honest and transparent and know that I'm all— I'm fine. When I go visit these clinics, I try to find ways to make treatments more affordable because the reality is that the average person cannot afford these treatments, which is why, you know, we do have some exciting things to announce today that we're trying to find new ways to help patients. And we have two clinics we partnered up with to do that that we'll be discussing next.
So yeah, okay, for— before we get into that, tell me where this mission of empathy came from, because it oozes out of you.
Yeah, you know, so, um, I just think back, like, when, when I was younger, I had a childhood where, you know, I had a loving family, but, you know, just chronic illness, when it hits, and mental illness hits, it just it instills experiences in you that change you. And I remember just certain experiences and moments where I just, that stomach sinking feeling, that hopeless feeling, that helplessness that why can't I make change? Why can't I get things? And just trying to always just understand. And I don't really feel like I figured out what my mission was, but when my dad passed away a couple years ago, I just quit my engineering job and I just started like just reflecting on like what my passion was. And I found in just so many weird ways talking to people about my struggles and listening to their struggles of just relating to them and understanding what they've been through, where they're going, imagining if I was in their eyes, you know, and, you know, and just talking to just thousands of people and just the human experience of, you know, what is it like to talk to someone who's told they're going to have 2 weeks left to live and they're going to Mexico for cancer to throw the Hail Mary, you know? What is it like I like to talk to someone who's been blind their entire life and they go to a random clinic to find out that they had Lyme and mold and now they can see again, right? Oh my gosh, yeah. It's this obsession I have because I believe that we need to have a reality here of healthcare is removing emotions, removing feelings. The only way that healthcare actually helps everybody is by making it a viable business model. And so my job is I'm a big marketing guy and I believe that in order to actually have marketing that works, especially in this industry, and to actually connect with people is you have to have empathy, which is the definition of envisioning what someone is going through by looking through their eyes. And so every website I've designed, everything that I've done personally, I always try to have empathy in my responses. So, you know, it— because, you know, it's, it's been very devastating sometimes talking to patients who call me and they get so worked up that, Daniel, I spent my entire life savings I heard about your company, I'm so excited, only to find out they have Medicaid and I can't help them, right? And I literally just, I literally just ruined their day. Like, they literally, they literally devastated. Like, I had a guy yesterday who has cancer. He called me and he was so excited. He heard about my company. He spent a quarter million on treatment for his wife who has cancer, and they're trying to just, just chasing it. They're trying to find, you know, treatments are effective and And basically, because I can't get him more money back, it's game over. You know what I'm saying? And so, you know, so going back to empathy, I feel like when you're in those situations and you have a position where you're going to be telling people some potentially bad news or, you know, kind of getting the hot air blown out of them, you know, I, I just really— I just, I don't know. I always envision like how, how much this is going to suck, you know? And so, like, that's why I think empathy is so important. We need more of it in health care. Because I think that if we, if we can envision what that person's going through and try to help them genuinely, like, that, that is, that is why we're here. That's why we're in this role. That's why, you know, God has put us, like, in this position to, you know, work with others, to connect with others. And so I'm on a mission whenever I talk to people. I go to clinics, the people that I don't even work with, with Medical Book Gurus, and I just say, tell me your story, let's get an IV together, right? Yeah, I love getting it.
I love getting an IV together.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh my gosh, it used to be happy hour.
Yeah, no, but who doesn't love a good IV though? You know what I'm saying? When the IV hits just right and you taste it just right. And so it's kind of funny because a lot of the clinics I work with know how much I like talking to patients and they know that I also love a good IV. So when I'm in town, they all have me come to their clinics and get IVs. And I just love talking to patients and just hearing, you know, because I also am very big into the science of this. And I just, I'm just so excited that whenever there's these innovative treatments that come out or things, and I'm working with some of the brightest minds in the world on medical treatments, you know, Arizona, Florida, Mexico, California, Germany, all over the country. I work with all these clinics and I hear about things and I get to go check them out and, and go try some of them, right? And you realize like, wow, this is like Jedi Star Wars medicine, right? And, and this doctor has got these crazy ideas that are just really out there. And it's just, it's so exciting to be part of this knowing that, you know, one of these doctors might actually be able to find an effective way to cure cancer that was impossible before. Um, you know, you know, I mean, look at the, look at the, the, the progress that's being made with Lyme disease treatments. Um, you know, I mean, there's so many different things coming on board here and different protocols. And, um, I work with so many clinics that are just telling me, like, Daniel, like, wait till you see what we're working on, like these new treatments that are coming out and And then what I really love is that some clinics are partnering together and they're bringing all their secret sauce together. So instead of it just being competitors, they're like, well, what if we bring what we really do good and you bring what you do really good and we focus on helping patients, right? And so I love seeing these relationships, being in the room when people are having these conversations, and just honestly just feel humbled every day that I can just talk to so many amazing people in this industry. But I'm passionate about innovation and change. And I feel like in healthcare, complacency has led to patients feeling the brutal toll of not receiving adequate treatments, going into debt. And that the reality is the average American is scared to death of walking into those ER doors for the emergency room bill that they can't afford because they still haven't paid the other one, right?
Oh yeah. And I literally posted this on social media 2 or 3 weeks ago because I had a concussion and I was in Scottsdale Pottsdale. And I started throwing up right away, and I did not go into the ER because I'm like, I do not— first of all, I've been to the ER 100 times and been told that because I passed out and had a seizure, it didn't mean anything. So I'm like, but I don't want to go spend thousands of dollars out of network going to a hospital I know is going to send me home with anti-nausea meds. Yeah, it's insane.
And painkillers, probably.
Yeah, it's insane. And I'm like, I've been down this road. I can treat myself better at home for the most part, or call the people I trust than walking into a random ER. And I think, okay, I really wanna hear about what your innovative stuff is cuz it's so excited, so exciting. But first of all, I also wanna commend you on what you've done because it is very difficult in this industry to advocate. And I, I mean, you and I have had this conversation, I have this conversation regularly. We are advocating with a very impoverished community and we are having to say some of the hardest things people have ever heard in their entire lives. And it's unfathomable. So it is not for everyone to be able to sit there day in and day out. And your phone calls are similar to a physician phone call, similar to coaching calls I take where it's like, okay, I have 46 really big problems. How do I solve some of them? Right? And oh, by the way, they all take money. And oh, by the way, I can't actually work full time because I have a kid who's been on the couch for 7 years or my husband is disabled. Like, these are life and death issues that people are solving, and it is only a few who can deal with that and then deal with it in a positive and truthful way. And there's this beautiful balance that you were talking about as far as like when you have that empathy being part of the human experience. And I've experienced that so many times where I'm with people from different aspects of the Lyme community who have all suffered so much, and yet somehow you can come together in moments and be like here's what you figured out, here's what I figured out, here's one piece to this puzzle. And it is one of the most addicting and powerful and beautiful things I've ever experienced, even in the midst of immense loss and tragedy. And I see you doing that.
Yeah, I mean, it's, you know, I, I hear, um, some crazy stories, you know. And honestly, like, I wish I could, for privacy reasons, could share more of just the things I've heard. But, you know, I mean It's just things that fire me up, right, to keep trying to move the needle and try to advocate for people. And then most of all, to try to, like, find ways to help the overall industry and business model work better. And so I really think that one of the issues with a lot of clinics in healthcare in general is that the business side of things is not dialed in as much as it could, and there's not enough communication with all stakeholders to optimize processes from top to bottom. I'm an engineer, and so I'm used to building power plants and transmission lines, and I look at all the chess pieces that are out there. It's what can we do to help create ultimately, and I'll be honest, more competition, because if you study economics and you understand Adam Smith's theory of the invisible hand, we're always going to do what's in our best interest. Ultimately, what happens when you drive more competition is the end user has a better outcome, better experience, and wins. At the end of the goal, every clinic that's out there and everybody who's listening to this knows in this industry that we should be focused on one thing, and that is getting patients better. And so, you know, whatever we can do to create more competition so that patients get a better experience, and if you're not on board with that, then what are you on board with, right? Because I know I am here to help stir the pot a little bit and get some new innovations and some new business models in play here to help patients afford treatment and ultimately help them get access to affordable treatments that they just previously could not. Um, so I mean, I do this every day in honor of my family, and so I love it. So, you know, I'm just really excited with how, uh, much we've grown lately and all the connections we've made. And, uh, I honestly think this is just the beginning. And so I'm pretty— I'm pretty excited to see. And I will tell you right now, with COVID I will— this industry of integrative, alternative medicine, whatever you want to call it— I like the term integrative medicine because it's usually more, uh, focused on actually getting people better with their immune system. So, if their immune system is compromised, what is causing it to be compromised? Do they have a bunch of trichothecene from exposure to Stachybotrys mold? And that's shutting down all this different stuff in their brain. And what you're finding, and it'd be interesting is with COVID all these people have underlying health conditions. And so, I know a lot of clinics have seen a surge of people who are just man, am I at risk that if I get COVID, I'm going to be one of the ones who passes away because I was so XYZ. I was deficient in vitamin D. I had underlying autoimmune disease that made my immune system more compromised. I've had so many of the clinics I work with, people have been going to them saying, dude, I'm just worried, man. Get me a vitamin C IV. What should I be doing? Glutathione. If you look at what was it, Chris Cuomo, when he got COVID on CNN, he had glutathione and was taking all these supplements. And it's like a lot of people are starting to think, wow, maybe I should take that stuff. Why should I take vitamin D? Why are we taking deficient? So I'm excited to be on the forefront of this industry as these— I'm excited to be part of the integration as these treatments become more mainstream in Western medicine. And so, I mean, because they're integrating by the day.
Yeah, okay, so let's talk about that because it's patients want treatment, doctors want to provide treatments. We're battling the insurance companies.
For nearly two decades, Invita Medical Center has been leading the way with the latest in personalized treatment options designed for patients dealing with Lyme disease complex. At Invita Medical Center, they offer a team-style approach and the latest technology regarding treatment and testing at an unmatched radical love and care environment for their patients. Doctors want to provide treatment. We're battling the insurance companies, really. That's what it comes down to, and, and our own personal savings and how many assets we can leverage. So tell us what you have been working on because it's absolutely fascinating. And I, I agree, I think it's the tip of the iceberg as far as changes that are coming. And I think COVID really— I've said this online COVID is just a tiny example. The whole world is experiencing what everyone with chronic illness lives, lives with all the time: loss of income, loss of security, not knowing if you are physically able to get up and go to work, or if that's even endangering you or your family. And it's costing everyone random amounts of money. It's huge, hugely impactful on the country, and we've only been dealing with it for like 9 months, maybe a year technically. So This to me is just an eye-opener to say, here's the fallacy. We've been in this broken medical system for a long time, but the people who have really felt it and known that and understood that have been on the outskirts saying the emperor has no clothes. Something is really wrong here. And when you know medically that the number one people in America are declaring bankruptcy is because of medical stuff and they're being completely impoverished. We sold our house for me to go to treatment, and that was just the beginning. So explain what you're seeing in the industry and how you think that this gap could be closed potentially.
Yeah, so, you know, after speaking with patients in the— and I say it's the trenches of the IV room— these are patients who are coming up with scraping money by. It's the trenches. It's— they're literally in there fighting day in and day out. They've got brain fog, they're racking up their credit cards, right? And it's basically a race of, will I be able to get better before I run out of money? That's typically what happens for the average Lyme patient. Okay. And so Medical Bill Gurus, historically, we've been there to help some of them. We can't help everybody, unfortunately. But for patients who do have qualifying insurance and are receiving treatments that we can identify as billable, we have gotten some money back and we've helped quite a few Lyme patients get treatments covered that are billable and, you know, under, under the coverage of their insurance. But there's just so many people who still are struggling to find the capital to even get in that IV chair because the clinics do not accept money, the treatment, without the— without getting paid up front. So I'm really excited to announce the Medical Gurus Insurance Deposit Program. So I worked— I have 3 clinics I'm working with right now, um, who have essentially almost merged together and to help make this possible. And so what we're going to be doing is essentially patients would only have to pay a fraction of the cost of treatment up front And then the insurance reimbursements would be on the back end. Okay. And so that way the, the patients would not have as large of a financial burden and could come to receive treatment for a fraction of the price. And so right now I'm estimating that would cost— it'd be $5,000 to $10,000 up front, and then that would be it for the protocol as long as they have qualifying insurance coverage. Okay. And so the treatments, I'm proud to announce, are going to be Brio Medical, Life Health and Research Center, and Nazoni Functional Medicine. Um, so Nazoni Functional Medicine and Brio Medical are in Scottsdale, Arizona, and they work with Dr. Mitchell, who I'm sure you're familiar with.
Um, and then he's an up-and-coming guest, actually.
Yeah, he's a very well-known Lyme doctor, and so you'd be able to have access to those protocols with his supervision for a fraction of the price and do the full protocol for $5,000 to $10,000. And then Life Health and Research Center in Bountiful, Utah, just outside of Salt Lake City, they are the only domestic clinic that does full-body hyperthermia. And so, I personally have done hyperthermia there quite a few times myself. It rocks you, man. It really does, right? And so, they want to offer their 2-week treatment protocol or longer depending on the patient for a fraction of the price so that way patients could essentially go to each of these clinics for $5,000 to $10,000, however they want to splice it up, and get the full treatment protocol without having to go completely out of pocket. And so, you know, going back to innovation is I believe that we need to move towards a model in the cash-based world where if patients do have qualifying insurance that is good, maybe we could take them on and not have to have them mortgage their home or rack up their credit cards or go completely out of pocket. And find a way to hedge the business model. And so I invite any, any clinic owner, if you're curious about, you know, this business model, we can definitely have a conversation. But I want to give kudos to these 3 clinics who have stepped up to take the gamble to help me work with patients and find ways to get them more affordable access to treatments without going more than $5,000 to $10,000 out of pocket for that protocol. All right, and again, I wish we could help everybody, but this is going to be for people who have a private PPO plan that is employer-sponsored. Okay, no Medicare, no Medicaid, no HMOs, and no policies off the marketplace. Okay, that— I mean, it's unfortunately, we, we cannot help everybody right now, but my goal is to prove a business model that will help prove that this is an option for patients and move the needle for growth and change and innovation in this industry and continue to scale that up so that every single person can eventually have access to these treatments. Is that going to happen overnight? But I want to let you know that now patients who do have qualifying insurance can go get whole body hyperthermia. They can go see Dr. Mitchell and go work with Brio Medical and have a full team of Lyme literate doctors, medical staff, ever be available. And it's one way that we can help get better access for these treatments to patients. And so, Historically, say someone who makes $50,000 a year, there's no way they can afford to go spend $50,000 on treatment, but maybe they're a teacher, maybe they're in a labor union, maybe they're a plumber, right? Maybe there's someone that makes not a ton of money, but they have really good benefits, right?
Yeah.
Those are the people that I'm really trying to shoot out here for. A teacher, let's say, right? The average teacher salary cannot afford $100,000 of treatment. All right, there's just no way. No, but you may find that that teacher has really good health insurance and we can find a way to leverage that with the deposit program to get her access to some of these treatments. And I'm really excited because I guarantee there's someone, and if you, if you're not sure if you qualify or not, I would like you to write this number down right now: 1-800-674-7836. That goes directly to Medical Bill Gurus if you have any questions about this, right? 1-800-674-7836. And if you're interested in working with any of these clinics, Brio Medical, Life Health and Research Center, Nisodi Functional Medicine, you can reach out to them directly and they can direct you to discuss their protocols. I invite you, don't just go to a clinic because the insurance billing is a potential option. Make sure you like it. But I can guarantee you that I personally have visited each of these clinics and I do my treatments there. And I do my IVs there. I go there once a month and do a round of treatments. And I recommend everybody look into it, right? I've done hyperthermia. It was a little intense. It definitely was, right? But we already have a lot of people who are going to Germany.
Are you free to share the benefits that you saw from that? Is that allowed?
Yeah. So when I did it, so with hyperthermia in Utah, what they do is they put you into a wetsuit to create a closed thermodynamic system. And so, it basically traps your heat in the body versus the ones in Mexico and Germany are more infrared-based and use the Heckel 3000 typically. But, what's interesting is that this clinic, they actually have an interesting protocol where you do a smoothie that has all these minerals and nutrients. And, I think they have niacin in there to help open up your vascularity for when you do the hyperthermia. Then you go work out and do muscle, break muscle fiber and release enzymes or some bio—
Interesting.
Some chemistry thing, right? Then they give you oxygen to oxygenate you. And then they have you go on a speed bike and they basically get your heart rate up to 150 where you're really feeling it, right? You're pumping, so that way you've got the blood flow in the oxygen. Right, okay. And then once you get to that At that point, you go directly into hyperthermia and they get you— I got up to 104.5 when I did it. Okay. And so, because the smoothie's doing something, and again, you'd have to talk with their staff to get the exact specifics because I'm not a doctor, but basically, it creates this whole chemical reaction of you're oxygenating, releasing enzymes from working out. You get into the hyperthermia suit, which is a closed thermodynamic system. So, they can heat you up quicker. So, if you use infrared light, that's not a true closed thermodynamic system because you're sweating and so the energy is coming out of your skin because your body is trying to cool itself down. And, this suit, you can't cool off. There's physically no way because it's just constantly being filled up with— I think the water is 113 degrees. In addition to that, you are doing PEMF and they have PEMF built into the hypothermia bed, okay? And so when you're doing it, you're getting all those therapies, right? But they got me up to 104.5. And then once, once I got there, like, my eyes were rolling back. I looked sick. I mean, I was, I was not feeling it, man. I was like, I was like, get me out of here, you know? And I wanted to die. You could go look on my Instagram at my photo. And my mom called me. She's like, I thought you were dying. Oh my God, don't ever do that again, you know? And I was like, yeah. So, so you get really toxic, you know, uh, It helps bust some biofilm. It helps get a lot of toxins in your bloodstream, to be honest. It's very effective at modulating your immune system. Just like when— if you go look at any literature, right, what's the first thing that happens when you get really sick? You get a fever, right? Yeah. So this is a controlled fever. So when you do the fever, when you do the hyperthermia, it's basically getting your body up to 104.5.. And if you actually go look at Hippocrates— I can never say his name right— Hippocrates, Hippocrates, Hippocrates. I can never say his name right. But he actually, when he was treating patients back in the day, thousands of years ago, he would actually bury them in the sand to induce a fever. If you go look at how— I did not know that. If you go look at how they treated syphilis, which is a spirochete, very similar to Borrelia, they would actually give them— no, no, not treat malaria, treat syphilis, right? If they would treat syphilis, it's a spirochete, right? They give malaria to induce a fever, right? And then, that would be effective way to get rid of the— if you survive the malaria, you got rid of the syphilis, right? So, hyperthermia is one of the top things people talk to me about all the time, right? So, once you do this and you're feeling like garbage and you want to die, —which is just typical of most treatments.
Yeah.
Yeah. So, once you get to that fun point where you're just like, "Why am I doing this?" Then, you go over to this machine that they designed that's technology from NASA called G-Force. And then, they literally do this crazy lymphatic drainage. Okay? They call it G-Force. It was technology designed—
So, you're doing lymphatic drainage on a G-force level? Yeah.
Well, it was technology designed by NASA to reacclimate the astronauts back to Earth. Because there's no gravity. Yeah. So if you see it on my Instagram, that photo of me in those spiral things, or on Facebook on the Medical Book Gurus page, there's a picture of me in these big helix things. Those are called what's called Helmholtz coils, right? So they produce an equid— they're equidistant, but they produce an equa— it's just a very— it's like very everything is symmetrical, right? So they create an electrical field, a PEMF, that's specific to a certain frequency. So, they can target co-infections, they can target parasites, they can target Lyme. So, you're doing PEMF yet again when you're doing this G-Force. And so, at the same time, you're also doing oxygen, so they hook you up to oxygen. So, it goes like this super fast. I mean, your whole body ricochets. It's like a 200-pound plate that goes up so fast. But once you do it, within 10 to 15 minutes, you feel better. It's interesting, right? And then, once you do that, they then have you go do Rife. And then, once you do the Rife, they have you do BrainTap and they do some IVs and stuff. But, the benefits I felt, I just wanted people to understand, visualize what it was because it's more than just hyperthermia, it's the whole thing. I wanted to die at first. And, the next part of that protocol which I really felt is you get the best sleep of your life. Like your body is so exhausted that you just have no, no option but like a deep sleep. I mean, you and your body's just resting and healing.
And so, uh, that's a literal fantasy for many of us patient Lyme patients is to sleep deeply.
So, so I, I woke up the next day and I felt like a rock star, to be honest. My energy levels were through the roof. I felt a little bit, you know, like felt a little like off a little bit, but you know, So once I was done with it, it gets easier as you go. 'Cause that first one is that real detox, right? That real, let's just get all the good stuff out, right? And so it got easier, but I try to do it once a month because it helps with my burnout. So because I travel so much, I mean, I don't know if I'm on East Coast, if I'm on West Coast, I wake up, I don't know what state I'm in. 'Cause I travel so much, right? That I just get, I hit burnout sometimes, you know? And so I fly in there and it kind of resets my brain chemistry. And 'cause one of the other benefits of hyperthermia is it helps with like mental health. It's like one of the most, it's good for like depression anxiety to some extent too because you're cooking your whole body. So, when I go there, I just felt more mental clarity and more— I enjoy Utah. And so, it's nice because a lot of the clinics I work at, they're always in these crazy areas like Phoenix or Tampa or LA or San Diego or Mexico. This one's very tucked away in Salt Lake City, very quaint. But, it's interesting. But, going back to what they're doing, we want to bring that entire protocol down to be an affordable price for patients. And then with Breo Medical, they're in Arizona. They also work in collaboration with Life Health Center, and they basically, um, you know, offer even more therapies, right? And that's what I was getting at earlier, is now we have people who are, um, you know, partnering together to do this. And so now at Breo Medical, they have Dr. Mitchell, they have a bunch of different IV protocols they do. For mold, Lyme disease, autism, PANS, PANDAS. They have the full gambit. And then in addition to that, they have a photobiomodulation bed. They call it the Prism. They have some really high-tech—
What is that? What specifically does that treat or what symptoms?
So that basically is going back, and they've used it a lot for their cancer patients, but it's also good for Lyme. Have you ever heard of a Novathor bed? That's the comparable one, Novathor, Prism. So they're photobiomodulation. So they basically work on energy therapy or wavelengths to some extent. So there's a special red light that goes through and it's supposed to do something to your mitochondria of your cells. It kind of helps supercharge them. So a lot of athletes, college, NFL, extreme athletes, they use these beds for recovery, anti-aging, but they're also really good to help stimulate your immune system. It's really interesting. So you have that bed. You should try it when you're there. If you could stop by the clinic, go try that.
Yeah, next Wednesday I'm heading over there.
Yeah, so there— so go check out that. They also have, uh, they have a PEMF machine, which is like, you know, you can get these little amp coil ones or, you know, things like that, but this is like the heavy hitter one, and it goes through your whole body, um, to a certain frequency where it can impact with parasites and all stuff. I mean, their doctor there, uh, Dr. Cheryl Cullen, she specifically works with cancer on one side, and Dr. Mitchell's there for the Lyme, mold, autoimmune, et cetera. But they have a lot of interesting devices for energy therapy, light therapy, frequency therapy, and they're very, very holistic in nature. So, and they've gotten great results with a lot of their patients. And I go there personally for my IVs when I'm in Arizona. I go there on a regular basis and get an IV at Brio Medical pretty regularly. So, and Nazoni's really good. That's who they partnered with. So basically, you know, under this, we can try to help patients figure out which clinic would be best for them to do it for the insurance billing perspective. But I'm really excited to help make access to all three of these clinics more affordable for patients who have qualifying insurance. And so that way they can actually go find, hey, if I do have a PPO plan, you can either reach out to the clinics directly or you can reach out to Medical Bill Gurus. And we can guide you on how to move forward with the deposit program and see if you are one that qualifies to get the treatment for a reduced price.
Wow, that's awesome. It's literally solving the biggest problem that exists for patients is, is the financial side of things, is the logistical side. And it's always so helpful to go somewhere where they're doing more than one thing, where you have a team who's dedicated to helping you and they understand all that myriad of complexities.
Well, you know, one of the biggest feedback I've gotten from patients and being in the trenches with them day in and day out is the unfortunate reality that so many patients relapse. They get sick again, they get another exposure, um, and that's devastating. It's PTSD. They just got over it, they went through hell and back, but unfortunately this time around they don't have the money, right? And so this is a way for us to try to help mitigate that. And my goal, honestly, if you— and if you go look at the research and you go look at all these things, right, is unfortunately a lot of patients, they just— the reality is that they will always have Lyme to some extent, and their immune system gets downregulated, and then they get sick again, right? So what if we could make it where they could come to a clinic, make that one deposit once a year, and come back as much as they need? What if they could come back quarter— what if they could come back monthly for hyperthermia? What if they could come back quarterly for hyperthermia? What if they could come back when they wake up one day and they know that they just can't do this anymore and they don't have to go do a GoFundMe? They don't have to go ask their loved ones and embarrassly be rejected by their friends and told they're crazy. No, you have insurance, we can help you. But, but the reality is I can only go so far. That's why right now I need everybody listening to take action. What insurance do you have? What insurance do you have? Do you have a PPO? Do you have an HMO? Do you not even know? Because right now is when open enrollment's going on, okay? So this is the chance to come on. So I want, I want to reiterate things. The plans through the marketplace will not be very good for reimbursements. It needs to be through an employer-sponsored plan, okay? I want to be savagely honest about that so no one has any false reality to live in. Those plans were not good, right? What you need is to have something through an employer. Or if you know somebody who owns a company, right? Can you get on their group plan, right? What, you know, what, what is your current employer offer? What is your spouse's employer offer? You can always have two policies too and double and make sure you're double protected, right? So you could have a policy through your employer and your spouse's employer. Yes, the premiums will be expensive, but you know what's even more expensive? Having to go spend $50,000 to $100,000 on treatment cash because you don't have any coverage and there's no money coming back to you at all. Okay. Right. So I encourage everybody, I've seen every scenario there is. Call me. I'm here to advocate for you. I do not charge anything upfront. We do everything pro bono with consulting. We're here to educate you on the front end because the only way that my company has a fee is if we actually help you secure reimbursements. So I encourage you, take action today. Go find out what insurance you have. Go look at your card. You're gonna look at your card and be like, what do these numbers even mean? I had no idea that I didn't realize I had this coverage or that coverage. Or even worse, maybe your policy's changed drastically and you didn't realize and you thought you had the— I'll tell you what, I had an insurance company with Medical Blog Gurus. Our policy, our carrier doubled our premiums, doubled our deductible, and then changed it to an HMO. Oh, and we're like, are you kidding me, man? You're not gonna have the PPO anymore? You know, so everybody needs— no one, you know, don't get complacent about this, right? A lot of people are in a situation that where, you know, they're spending every dollar they can to get treatment and they're trying to find ways to help, you know, their loved ones and stuff, right? This is something that I'm here to help you with is navigate the insurance billing side of things. And we've gotten results for people, right? But the key is you've just got to have the right coverage and you've got to go to a certain type of treatment or provider because we cannot bill for everything that a lot of patients are doing. So that's why I say, hey, if you're going to do that, I'm not telling you not to do it. I just want you to know that that's not something that we can identify as billable, right? Using the example of stem cells, bee venom therapy, any herbal protocols, there's nothing that we can identify as billable typically with those. Not that I'm knocking them whatsoever. I'm just saying that there's no— and it has to be with a medical doctor, a doctor of osteopathic medicine, or a naturopath. Unfortunately, Medical Bill Gurus, we don't do anything with— we cannot bill out for acupuncturists social workers, chiropractors, RNs. I mean, you know, if you think you have really good insurance, you know, we could talk about it and you spend the same amount of money, but typically those, those providers are not reimbursed at the same rate as an MD is, so it's harder to actually get some of that money back. Okay.
Okay.
Wow. Yeah. Yeah. So, but we're really excited here and the goal here is that, you know, for affordable for an affordable rate that we can get this number down as low as possible, patients could keep coming back and getting treatments that are shown to be effective, that they find are being more holistic and integrative in nature, and ultimately don't have to keep going out of pocket as much. And so we're really excited. And really what we need, what we need people to do is understand what type of coverages do you have. And I just, I just personally, I stay up at night and I lose sleep over talking to, you know, a mom who called me and I'm never gonna forget the story. She was, you know, a mom somewhere in Connecticut. She got a tick bite, you know, at her kid's soccer practice. All of a sudden, next thing you know, they're mortgaging the home. You know, they're going $100 grand in on treatment. You know, she got better, but then she was like, "Oh, I found out about your company, Daniel. I'm so excited." And I'm like, "Yes, like, let's help her. I wanna win, I wanna win." Only to find out that she, during open enrollment had switched to the HMO to save money because she didn't think that billing was an option. She would have saved that $100 a month when she could have had access to a Cadillac PPO that probably would have reimbursed quite a bit back. And so, so I want people to have these lightbulb moments, right? You know, and if this is something that you're not aware of, just keep in mind, before you sit in that IV chair and you start— and the drip starts coming— and realizing that there's money dripping right now What can we do to help get that money back for you so that you can stay in an IV chair? Because the number one thing that I talk to with Lyme patients is a lot of them like how treatment's going and they don't want to leave the clinic, but they simply just run out of money and they can't afford it, right? And so it's, it's always a race that when people start doing treatments and they're paying a lot of money cash-based to try to recoup that money as quickly as possible so that that way they have a financial lifeline. As they move through their journey to healing, right? Because, you know, the reality is if you've had Lyme for 10 years, you know, treatment— I mean, who knows how long treatment could be, right? You know, I've seen people do it a couple weeks or a couple months or whatever it may be. I just want to help make sure that you have some type of buffer financially if you need to keep going, you know.
So I had a coaching client a couple weeks ago and he was explaining to me how ridiculous it was that all the Lyme treatment centers treat people for months. And I was like— like, that was too long in his mind. It was ridiculous. And I was like, um, ah, I'm sorry to tell you this, it's actually not months, it's years. Like, yeah, this is gonna— this is probably gonna go on a long time. Yeah, it's— yeah, the reality of Lyme.
Well, if you've had Lyme for 20 years and you have biofilm that's collected all these toxins, you know, I talk to patients and, um, I go to clinics and I go to a detox center in Florida quite a bit. And they— as soon as those patients start busting biofilm, they're seizing in the chair because they're so toxic, right? And they start having these crazy Herxheimer reactions. And Dr. Spinagel in Oldsmar, Florida, he actually had a patient that happened to where the patient was seizing so hard because they got so toxic, they actually broke the La-Z-Boy chair they were sitting in. And he had to get them out. He got them out with glutathione, or I don't remember what he did. He, uh, but like, you know, that's just the reality. And, you know, if you have someone like that, it's going to take time and patience, you know, but most of all, it's also going to take money, right? And so that's why Medical Bill Gurus is here to help navigate that, that system on the back end. And it's a complexly, dynamically changing landscape on a daily basis with our healthcare system, not just for Lyme and integrative, but just overall. We don't know what's going to happen with this presidential election.
Um, oh, I was going to ask you that. Okay. Just, I don't even know if you can answer it. If you can't, we'll cut this out. But when you saw Clinton, Clinton, when you saw Trump's proposed healthcare plan and Biden's, did you have any thoughts on that?
You know, honestly, um, I, I, I hate like everything on all sides, just personally. Like I just, you know, that's just kind of my response. I'll tell you right now, Medicare for All is not the answer though. Um, I know a lot of people think Medicare for All is really great. But I'll just, I'll just shed some light because, you know, what's interesting about my situation and my perspective is I'm a numbers guy. I'm an engineer. I look at data. I look at analytics. I have more empathy and emotion than anybody else. But I also know that what drives decisions and business models is revenue. You need both. And looks at numbers, right? Yeah. And so the reality is the average physician that takes Medicare actually loses money, right? Because the reimbursement rates are so low. And so So what's happening is more and more physicians are going to start opting— I mean, they literally like— I mean, you go look at like an ACL repair and this and that. I mean, some of these doctors are legitimately losing money because it doesn't even cover the cost of their staff and their overhead. Yeah, right. I mean, it's crazy. So the idea that you think that we're going to get every doctor to do Medicare for All, well, you know what that goes against? The number one thing I believe as a business owner is competition. We need more competition. That spurs innovation, that gets people going, that gets their brain juices cranking at 2:00 AM on Saturday, right? And actually find ways to fix solutions. Everyone loves talking about problems. All I see them doing is talking about problems. They're both just probably not gonna do anything worthwhile in terms of fixing it. It's gonna be the same system because the insurance companies are gonna lobby anyways to make sure it goes their way, right? So the way I look at it, if it was up to me, what a healthcare system would be ideal is if you could get more players like Facebook, Amazon, you know, Microsoft, like offering packages on a direct-to-consumer basis. Because our system is currently based on a managed care contract system and on group plans that were set up with labor unions for the baby boomers after World War II. That labor union model also had a great pension. It had all these great options. But the reality is we're actually moving away towards more of an independent model. And so why is it that as a business owner, I can't get good access to insurance no matter how much I want to pay? Okay, but if I go through a large corporate entity with more premiums, if they broke that model and just allowed a free-for-all in the market, where you had different people, it's just making sure that they could actually cover the cost of the treatments and get it going. But you should have— if it was like— what I hate is we have state lines. You should have 50 companies in every state, and anybody in the country can choose any of them, and you have 250 people competing against each other, and the one that actually gets it right for the end user will win and get volume. And be able to get market share overnight. But when you actually go under one roof, you know, Medicare is interesting. It's the only company, one of the only insurance companies, I think it's the only one that doesn't, they don't negotiate like pharmaceutical prices. And so, you know, if you think that there's not corruption in our government to some extent with healthcare, I just like, I just think that the more competition we have, the better, right? And so what you've actually seen a big spur of, especially in the alternative world, right, is these Christian healthcare sharing programs that we've built through the past. And they believe in integrative medicine, right? And they believe in outcome-based medicine because they've seen that if they nip it in the bud with integrative medicine, when someone has stage 1, stage 2 cancer, well, guess what? They don't have to go pay a quarter million dollars for chemo and radiation. Get that, right? So these clinics, I mean, some of these clinics actually take that direct pay. So one by one, if we can keep moving the needle and then educate people and let them become more aware of what these options are, how to get everybody under one umbrella, and how to actually spur people to change the way things are done, then we're going to help people move. Because we don't know what's going to happen in the recession next year, right? I mean, you know, for all we know, it could come, it couldn't come. Um, I just personally want to help people set success up so that if they do lose their job but they still have health insurance, maybe they can still go get treatment because they're on that COBRA insurance, right? I don't know. I'm just trying to think 3 moves ahead and have a solution because everyone loves to talk about problems, but no one likes to just have solutions on hand. So this is a potential solution. It's not a perfect one, but it at least helps it so that you don't have to go significantly in debt in comparison to the historical business model that patients have been experiencing.
Wow, that's exciting stuff. Yes, it absolutely is. I mean, because it's a, it's a game changer. I love game changers and I love focusing on solutions as well, because we— there are infinite amounts of problems. And that's what I do all the time in coaching calls, is it's like, okay, here's all your problems, what solutions are out there? And I think one of the things that I've seen you do for a lot of my coaching clients is I've seen you help them figure out, okay, cert— this spouse needs to go get a job, this spouse needs to get a job with a different— purely for the insurance side of things, and And sometimes that's possible and sometimes that's not, but you don't know. And I'm in that boat. I've spent hundreds of hours on the phone with my insurance companies trying to figure out pricing in advance, trying to negotiate after the fact, trying, and I don't get anywhere. And I have seen you get people money and answers and solve problems.
Well, we just know that we know how they play it. We know how the insurance companies operate and we know how this industry— and you know, what's interesting is a lot of people, no one, everyone, whenever you listen to a presidential debate or an outline, right? Everyone talks about this. This is, you know, what the financial glue is of all the stakeholders. It's the medical billing company. It's the financial glue that ties the patient's premiums to getting money back from the insurance company, right, to the pay to the provider, right, depending on the different models. So, you know, medical billing is a huge deal, but medical billing is old school, man. And if it was up to me, I would love nothing more than to keep innovating in the medical billing side. You know, I've had people approach me about blockchain solutions and like coming up with more crypto-type solutions for healthcare. And so, I'm always— because who knows, maybe that could just be the next medical healthcare marketplace is crypto. Who knows, right? We never know what the innovations are. But as a medical billing partner, you really tie everything together. And so, that's why we can work with patients, we can work with providers, we work with insurance companies, we work with all entities to try to bring everybody together and keep that cash flow moving through the ecosystem. So that way people, you know, providers can keep their lights on, patients can get paid, the insurance companies can keep the lifecycle going. It's just when we run into complacency, which is a lot of in healthcare, we, we get stuck in these old practices that need to be renewed. And so I'm really hoping in this, at least the cash-based integrative world, that the deposit program will move the needle. Because here's the deal is I have a lot of patients who call me and they say, Daniel, I need you to give me the CPT codes so I can call my insurance company and see how much they're gonna pay. Well, first of all, you know, we don't give out codes at Medical Bill Gurus. That's just a company policy. And the reason being is because, like, you know, we don't know what you're gonna really be doing, right? Like, and, and whatever the insurance company tells you, there's no managed care contract in place. If you get it in writing, it's still not guaranteed, right? Oh yeah, I've been there. The person that you're calling to answer that that could be in another country. They have no idea what you're doing. They're thinking that you're going to get this IV when you're going to get that IV. Uh, it's not going to be apples to apples. And ultimately, the other day, they could just be telling you what you want to hear because most of the people who call don't actually go through with the treatment. Really? I mean, think about it, right? If you have a bunch of people who call for something, only a fraction of them, just statistically with, you know, if you look at just being human, you know, 20 people call about something, only a fraction of them are going to follow through about it, right? So, I mean, think of all the calls that those insurance companies get. They don't know when you say you're getting Lyme treatment or cancer treatment, if it's— you're going to keep different things. It's tough, right? And then you may say, well, I'm going to get photobiomodulation laser bed, right? And they're going to be like, well, what is that? Right? And it's like, well, we don't bill that. So now you're talking about things that we're not going to actually bill to the insurance. Right? So, wow.
All right. Yeah. Give us that phone number again. All right.

And I feel like really the timing of this is huge because, I mean, we've been having the conversation all year about our health insurance and we actively know that we need to switch it. And it's one of our things that has to happen here in the next few weeks is figuring out which program to switch to for next year, because it's just this ongoing discussion that impacts every aspect of your life when you're in this realm. Well, yeah.
And it could also be something that's literally a game changer in your life, right? That if you, you know, get the right plan, I mean, it's really a game changer. I mean, I, and I hate to say that. I mean, you know, I see some of these policies that pay out a ton and then some of these other ones pay out pennies, right? For the same exact thing. The exact same exact thing. And so, you know, education is huge here. Um, and I'm available. And so if anybody wants to reach out to me directly, my email is daniel@medicalbillgurus.com. Thank you. Hi guys, I want to let you know about a book I wrote called Little Bite, Big Trouble, and I'm going to read a review that recently came in. This is from Carolyn and she says, thank you so much for writing your book. It has become the means by which I have explained Lyme to my 4-year-olds. They asked for it to be read as a bedtime story over and over again and love that the mama birdie does yoga and juicing like their mommy. I can't thank you enough for writing this book. It has helped my family so much. You can find it today at amazon.com, Little Bite, Big Trouble.
