The excerpt is a live/group devotional session led by Satya Robyn with at least one other identified participant (labeled here as Speaker B) and a small in-person audience; it features chanting, singing of mantras and devotional songs drawn from multiple traditions (Hindu/bhakti, Sufi, Buddhist, Celtic influences), a reading of a Rumi poem, and audience interaction (instruments, tambourine, vocal responses). The stream experiences technical issues (audio/word sheets/picture freezing) that are mentioned during the session. Language is primarily English with repeated traditional mantras and ritual phrases (e.g., Om, Heart Sutra gate gate, Namu Amida Butsu, Kwan Yin mantra) and occasional playful or garbled interjections from other speakers.

We're a very small little gathering tonight because of the bank holiday, but it's really lovely to be here and to be with you all, and possibly to be our people with joining online, although it's quite possible that the sound's just gone down about half an hour ago and I can't work out how to turn it back on. Satya Robyn. Yeah, so just beginning to settle in a little. Have a little look around the space. Let yourself begin to orientate to this room, this place, the other beings, the other people in this space. Birdsong is welcoming us in. So over the next hour and a half, we're going to be chanting and singing devotional songs and mantras. From a variety of different traditions. We're going to be doing bhakti yoga or Hindu ones, Sufi, Buddhist, possibly a Celtic one thrown in. The gremlins are particularly active this evening and they've hidden all the words, so what you've got out there are the old words because all the other new words that I always keep in the same place have disappeared. And as well as totally whatever they've done to the sound. So when I say the words will be on this page, I mean they're probably not going to be on that page, so I probably won't even say that. But if you do need to find the words, then they will probably be in there. People joining online, if we do have sound, I think we probably don't because people have joined and then left, so I think it probably is unfortunately totally dead, but they have all the words that have been emailed to them. So they have the words but no sound, and we have the sound but no words.
Yeah.
Oh well, the universe is complete one way or the other.
Yeah.
So, you know, I like to start with a poem. So we're going to start with a Rumi poem, which is actually quite very fitting for the little technical difficulties we're having tonight. Don't worry about saving these songs, and if one of our instruments breaks, it doesn't matter. We have fallen into the place where everything is music. The strumming and the flute notes rise into the atmosphere, and even if the whole world's harp should burn up, there will still be hidden instruments playing. So the candle flickers and goes out. We have a plea— plea a piece of flint and a spark. This singing art is sea foam. The graceful movements come from a pearl somewhere on the ocean floor. Poems reach up like spindrift and the edge of driftwood along the beach, wanting. They derive from a slow and powerful that we can't see. Stop the words now. Open the window in the center of your chest and let the spirits fly in and out. So continuing to allow that to help you to arrive, I'm going to sing the opening prayer. Well, I will do, but the gremlins are also in my Shriti box tonight. It's playing different notes from what I've got it set up as. Let's change to a different chord.
There we go. Namastu, dear. Om Durgamata ki jai, Kali Mata ki jai, Amritashe ki jai, Bhole Bhatta ki jai, Amida ki jai, all beings everywhere ki jai.
begin to warm up their own voices. So we'll start with a little hum, a little hum, and then at some point that hum might turn into an Om. And it doesn't have to sound like mine, it doesn't have to be the same pitch as mine. Moving into our first mantra, 'Ambe Ma.' 'Ambe Ma,' 'Mother Divine.' And just in case the online viewer who we currently have does have sound, I'm going to ask people not to join in for the first round or two so that they can hear what the tune is like, and then come in.

Apparently they can hear us, but the picture is frozen. But they can hear us, so that is good. Thanks for the feedback, Chris. We're going to move into the mantra from the Heart Sutra, gatte gatte. Paragate parasangate bodhisoha. Which may be on page 3 if you want to see it written down. Gate gate paragate parasangate bodhisoha. Is it there? Yep, must be the one. We will start, we will start slow. At some point we will double the time or we will take away the gap. And then we will slow down again in the perfect curve.
Satya Robyn.
This mantra is always an invitation to be Beyond. So hard.
Para sangha te boori so, agham te gande, para gathe, para sangha te boori so, agham te gande, para gathe, para sangha te boori so.
We're gonna move into sita, ram, sita. That's it. That's the whole bunch. Any takers for— I'll take an egg. An egg, great. I'll take a tambourine. Brave tambourine taker. You trust me with this? Sure. Sure. Just listen. That's the key to everything, really. I listen. The more I listen, the more I get into it. The more we do, the more we listen. Yes. Sit down.
Sita, Sita, Sita, Sita, Ram, Ram, Ram. Rande, rande, rande, rande sham, rande sham. Sinta, sinta, sinta, sinta rama, rama. Satya Robyn. Sing ba sing ba sing bang sing cha da dum brah ham sam sat de rat te rat de ta te sham tat le cham— Sing a, sing a, sing a, sing a loud song. Rattay rattay rattay rattay. Aisha.
So because Mike here has got a t-shirt on with a Leonard Cohen quote that we incorporate into one of the songs, I felt like I just— it had to be sung tonight.
Lovely.
Was it a deliberate request or was it just accidental that you were wearing that t-shirt today? Well, I was up at How the Light Gets In in Heianwa yesterday because it's on this weekend, so I was wearing it for yesterday. It came along today as well. Is that what we need to do to do requests? Put them on a t-shirt?
Yeah, this one. Yeah.
So, ring the bells that still can ring, and maybe somebody could find it on the words for people who— our new So ring the bells that still can ring. Hoping it's in there because it is quite a new addition. You always take the t-shirt off and hang it up. So if you just— okay, okay, thank you. So if you don't need the words, maybe you could just put the right page open onto our test seat, and then when he comes back in So ring the bells that still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack in everything. That's how the light, how the light gets in. And then we move into the Kwan Yin mantra. So Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. Thank you. I think I'll have the tambourine back for this. Yes. Okay. You're great though. It's been a while, hey, since we've done that one. It's this one. So ring the bells. So long I've forgotten what notes to play.
So ring the bells that still can ring.
Forget your perfect harmony. There is a quirk, a crack in everything. That's how they like it. They like it sweet.
So ring the bells that still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack, a crack in everything.
That's how the light, how the light gets in.
So bring The bells that still can ring. Focus your perfect glory. There is a crack, a crack in everything. That's how divine There is a cry, a cry in every turn.
That's how the life, how the life gets in.
So ring the bells, sit still and ring.
She sees him both sides!
