30 Days of Encore - Day 2

Hey gang, Scott Perry here, Encore Life Coach and author of The Art of Encore Living. This is episode number 2 or day number 2 in 30 Days of Encore. So, in 30 Days of Encore, what I'm doing is I'm doing an over-the-shoulder look at the launch of The Art of Encore Living: A Guide to Find Fulfillment, Forge Meaning, and Make a Difference in the Second Half of Life, which is my new book. And I'm also going to share insights and updates about building a community of readers called the Legacy Circle. And this is a group that's going further with the guide's teachings in a series of free calls, uh, that offer additional training, Q&A, and group coaching. What I'm going to do today, and in day 2 is we're going to take a deep dive into the community side of things. Um, before I do that, just a couple quick updates on the book launch and the community build. Uh, we had a whopping 1 sale on Amazon yesterday. I think we had 1 or 2 on, uh, the site as well. So people have an option— you can buy on Amazon, uh, but if you prefer to use a platform other than Amazon, it's available for sale on the site. Um, book is very inexpensive, and, uh, I just want to make sure that people get it in whatever format that they want to get it. But you get the same book in the same formats on either Amazon or my site. Let's go ahead and— so although that was not, you know, huge news on the sales front, we did do pretty well with going ahead and starting to get more people inside the community. So if you remember last time, we had 13 people on day 1 that joined the community. We now are up to 18, so we had an additional 5 people join the community. Super excited about that. And if you think you might be interested in joining our community, I'd like to show you a little bit about how you can do that and give you a little look under the hood. So when you click on the link that I share with you, when you ask about the community, you're going to arrive at this page. Um, just a little bit about Success Finder. I'm going to put in a, uh, test address and I'll simply click continue. Now, one of the things about Success Finder is that you will not be joining a list. You're not going to get your inbox spammed up by Success Finder emails. The only emails you'll ever get are when you sign in with your email, you'll, you'll get this code. And so I'm just going to go ahead and access the code. And then after you enter this first time with your email address and get the code, you can just click on the login with your Google account and you will not have to enter your address again. So again, you're not going to be added to a list. The only notifications are the ones that you agree to get, and those are from the community leaders and the communities that you join. There's no, uh, there's, there's no messaging inside the platform, so you're not going to get spammed by other members the way you might on a social media platform like LinkedIn or Facebook. So just a really clean, efficient, dedicated to learning, and dedicated to, uh, you know, taking learning and, and engaging in intentional action with it on the Success Finder platform. So what you'll do here is you'll enter your name, and I'm gonna hope that I can enter my real name twice. You'll go ahead and select some, uh, interests. I think you can select up to 3. I'm just going to go ahead and do the ones that that, um, I'm already dedicated to in my community. You'll click the Next button. Now, this is really important. You'll want to upload a photo, uh, and submit that, and then you'll click Submit, and you'll fill out, uh, your profile by clicking this icon here. And I would really encourage you to go ahead and fill out your profile. That doesn't ask for much— a little short bio, your phone number if you want to leave that, and your email, of course. Uh, after you fill out your profile, what you want to do is go to Settings, and you'll see you can choose dark theme if you prefer that. You can decide whether you want to chat with other community members. The big thing here is notifications. They are automatically set to none, so that means you'll not get any. However, if you want to get the notification about the announcements that are made, or if there's a follow-up on a chat that you're engaged in inside the community, you'll want to check either to get it by text to your phone or by email. I prefer email, so you'll want to go ahead and set that. But then what happens is you'll get— come to the community that you just signed up for. So again, when I send you the link to the Art of Encore Living Community, you'll sign in or sign up, you'll go right to this page and you'll be able to get started. So here's a little introduction to what the Art of Encore Living Community is all about. Community announcements— this is where the calls and the Zoom links will be shared. You can participate in a community chat, and then the Legacy Circle calls will have replays posted here. The announcements for those calls will happen in the community announcements. And then we have some community resources to help you get started. We have a video on how to dial in the difference only you can make in the second half of life so you can start living your legacy. A little tidbit from the book. This is a PDF download of The Most Important Conversation You'll Ever Have, a way of kind of clarifying and having more confidence about what you want from the second half of life and the difference only you can make and how to close the gap so that you can get closer to more of what you want in the second half of life.
