Heraclitus's river metaphor shows why you can't start from zero: you and your circumstances have changed. The speaker calls this "begin and begin again," urging you to start now with what you have instead of waiting for a perfect moment.

closing thoughts in the book is a reference to my favorite pre-Socratic philosopher, Heraclitus, who said, and I'm using more inclusive language, but he said, no one steps in the same river twice because they are neither the same person nor is it the same river. And so oftentimes, like I certainly am guilty of saying this, like, you know, just get going, just start, just begin. But it's the way that I frame it in the book, um, in reference to the quote is that begin and begin again, right? Like when you begin, you're not beginning from zero, you're beginning from where you are with what you have.
