Inspiration isn't something that happens to you. It comes from doing hard work anyway, even when you're not ready and don't have all the answers. The speaker calls this intrepid: tackling problems despite uncertainty and fear.

Inspiration doesn't come to people that way. Inspiration visits people that are actually leaning in and doing the work because inspiration wants to be, have expression, and it's not gonna be expressed by someone sitting on the couch waiting to be inspired. It's gonna come through someone that is leaning in and is being intrepid. Intrepid doesn't mean fearless. Intrepid means leaning into a challenge before you feel like you're ready, before you have the perfect answer, before you have absolute clarity. It means leaning into a challenge even though you have this uncertainty and maybe a little bit of fear. Fearlessness is something that you build through doing meaningful work without any guarantees, because there are no guarantees. And so that whole idea of being intrepid, of doing what you can with what you have, with and for the people that are around you, and Trusting yourself enough to trust this process and to trust that you'll figure it out, because you will.
