Scott Perry explores personal responsibility and what you can actually control. You can't control others, illness, or death, but you can control your perceptions and actions. Taking responsibility for what's yours is how you build a meaningful legacy.

is— oh, I'm sorry, the last piece is responsibility. This is just that idea that you're going to take ownership of what's yours to own. You control your perception, your thoughts, the narrative in your head. That's, that's up to you. Yes, we have some programming and conditioning that maybe conspires against us here. But if you are aware that that's happening, and you acknowledge that that's happening, you can start to take control of your inner narrative, you can start to take control of how you see yourself, your situation, and other people. And then you get to choose, you get to decide what you're going to do next. So there's perception and action, how you think about yourself, your situation, and other people, and what you decide and do next. That is all within your power. And it's all that's within your power. You cannot control other people, their attitudes, their behaviors, their thinking, what they think about you. You cannot control most, uh, really any situation. You don't even have control over your body. You can, you can feed it with nutritious food and exercise it, and you will still at some point fall prey to disease, uh, and eventually death. So what— but the good news is, even though almost everything is outside of your control, you control the two things necessary to live a flourishing, thriving, purposeful, meaningful life that is full of fulfillment and meaning, and that will allow you to have the impact and leave the legacy that you want to leave behind. I always call it living your legacy. You can live your legacy if you take control of the two things that are your responsible— responsibility to take care of.
