Creativity isn't a luxury but an evolutionary survival tool. Early humans faced bigger, stronger predators and had to think their way out, which drove larger brains and better communication. That problem-solving instinct is still in us.
Creativity is just a natural human instinct. It's how we have always solved interesting problems, beginning with the interesting problem back in the day of how do we stay alive in a world where everything is bigger, stronger, and faster than us and wants to eat us? And because we were able to solve that problem by collaborating and coming up with creative solutions for survival, we grew a big brain that enabled us to communicate better, enabled us to grow a bigger brain, and eventually dominated the planet. So now, um, nothing eat us anymore.
