Coaches who just validate and agree are being replaced by AI like Claude and ChatGPT. Even insight-driven coaching is under threat as AI gets better at generating actionable advice. Human coaches need to evolve or become obsolete.
thought about doing that or how I do it is I am coaching for insight that leads to intentional action. When I look at the field now, the coaches that are coaching for agreement are already toast because all you have to do is play with Claude AI or ChatGPT for an afternoon and you'll see that you are working with the most agreeable coach you've ever worked with. They are people pleasers, they are validators, they are cheerleaders, and that's nothing wrong with that. Yeah, you can try to prompt it to become, provide more pushback or to be more critical and so forth, but it always ends up defaulting over time back to agreeableness. The insight coaching is definitely being right now someplace where you can survive, but it is quickly being the kind of thing that AI can do very, very well, and it will only get better at that over time.
