A speaker explains why stepping outside your comfort zone is essential for personal growth, especially with money habits. Small changes to how you handle finances can set you up for faster retirement.
Now we all have a certain comfort zone we feel comfortable in. It's easy, it's stress free. There's only one way to grow in life and that is to step out of the comfort zone, to extend ourselves. And so that comes with growth. Yes, it's uncomfortable, but we're growing. And so one thing I'd love you guys to do is really just focus on getting out of the comfort zone for the next week or two and just try something different. Try something a little bit uncomfortable. For example, it could be saying, hey, I'm only going to be spending $100 less than what I normally do on my living allowance. Or it could be I'm actually going to go and earn $100 more this week because I've sold some stuff on ebay or Gumtree or I've started working for Uber. But just do something different because we all know if you keep doing the same thing, you're still going to get the same result. And so if you just tweak something, reverse something, change something, you're going to get a better result. You're to going, going to be in a better financial position and ideally set yourself up for a much faster retirement.
