90% of podcast creators quit after three episodes. Another 90% quit by episode 20. The speaker argues that just showing up consistently for months puts you ahead of 99% of people. Persistence, not talent, separates entrepreneurs from everyone else.
Chapters
Duration. Let's go a little bit deeper here. I saw this interesting stat yesterday about the ability for people to create podcasts. So there's something like millions, right, of podcasts and many more episodes. But here's the thing about it. Most people quit. So 90% of the people who create a podcast quit after 3 episodes. 3. 1, 2, 3. You record them, you're done, you give up. Another 90%, if you make it past that first 3 threshold, another 90% stop after 20 episodes. So record 20 and you quit, you give up because probably nothing's happening. So if you can basically just last longer than other people and you have the ability to just do something a month, In a row, then you've already beat 99% of the human population. And I think that's really what it all comes down to, right? Which is I can go longer than you can go. And the length of that is so short because people are just so used to getting immediate and real-time positive feedback that they just give up. So the only difference between an entrepreneur and everybody else is they don't give up. That's it.
