How much would your life or your business improve if you could build a larger network of skills and relationships and resources? Steve, one of the greatest lessons I learned over my time as a coach and working with all kinds of teams is that as much as I enjoy the strategy and the technical aspect of drawing up X's and O's, Success was far less about drawing planes than it was about drawing people together. 60% of executives, according to the American Management Association, reported that their greatest difficulty was collaboration—getting people to work successfully together. I'm Sean Glaze, and as an author, speaker, and team-building coach, I draw upon over 20 years of experience working with teams help organizations just like yours enjoy more trust, more productivity, and more fun. The power of team building is in experiential learning. One of the things that you will see as you get into the challenge activities is each activity, honestly, is a small microcosm of the entire organization. And how people work together on this is oftentimes how they work together in the midst of their actual corporate or other culture. Anybody try to hide other teamies' faces? No. See, awareness without action is worthless. If you know that you're missing a piece, you need to do something about it and go find it. Rapport helps you to establish a connection, but then the relationships you build with that connection are going to always be based on trust. I think there are 3 things that you need to build trust, whether it's with your coworkers or with your client. That 3-legged stool of trust, the first leg would be competence. See, too many people see frustration as a brick wall that causes them to quit. Frustration can also be seen as an encouragement to change unsuccessful habits. And if you want people to be truly invested, it's not just about building connections amongst people on the team. It's about building connections so that they see where their efforts are going and what they're actually accomplishing as part of the big picture.
It was very insightful, very, very powerful. Got us all engaged with one another.
Certainly you could take pieces home and work with your staff or your family.
