The larger the word, the more often that word's been shared. What's in the middle of this? Caring. You know what I've never seen on this activity? I've never seen once somebody type in, she was really good with Excel spreadsheets. It's not technical skills that move the meter as a leader. Do you understand that? Your people depend on you far, far less for technical skills than they do for interpersonal skills. What does that mean for you and your interactions with the people that you're responsible for, with your direct reports, with your organization? When you think about that and you think back to how you felt when that face popped into your mind as the best leader you ever had, what would it take for you to pop into somebody else's mind?
