Chapters

So what makes you an effective leader? Effectiveness is not about seniority. You can be in an organization a long time and still not be effective. Effectiveness is not about the title you have. You can have the authority of a position and still not have the impact that your team wants you to have. Effectiveness isn't about effort. You can work really hard doing the wrong things and still not positively impact results. Effectiveness is a symptom of increased awareness. And the clarity that creates courage and commitment so that you have more meaningful interactions with your team. Whether experienced or emerging, inside every leader is a better one, but that increased effectiveness is not about experience or effort or titles. It's about improving your leadership by awareness and having more productive interactions with your people. That's what effective leaders do.
