If you don't have good connections, you're not going to get any energy. And I started using that as the foundation of what I did with teams because I realized that there really are two connections that absolutely determine the energy that you and the energy that your people bring to your organization each day. Two connections you need to have. The first is connection to a compelling common goal, the reason that you get up. The meaningful mission. That first connection that any all-in committed team member is going to have is a connection to a purpose. The second connection is going to be to each other, to the people that they're working with to achieve that goal.
