Do you have a mission statement? Do you have those reminders that you can share not just with yourself, but with the people that you lead so that they have a meaningful mission, that, that why that's going to drive and motivate them? And one of the things that I think is very important for leaders to recognize is it's not just about identifying that overarching mission, but it's about connecting people to the mission. Because in way too many organizations, this is what it looks like, is you'll have somebody who understands, I'm 29, and next to me is 28, and next to me is 30. And they see a very narrow view of the impact that their attitude or their actions have. And they don't necessarily have that sense of a big picture. They don't have an appreciation for themselves being a small contributing part of something larger and more significant than themselves. That's your job as a leader, is to connect each individual to the impact that they're having.
