This is a YouTube video titled "Break your bloodline www.meltonmindset.com #coach #automotivecoach #tires" featuring Mike Melton delivering a motivational talk recorded in March 2025. In the talk, Mike Melton discusses overcoming family issues such as addiction and negative behaviors by breaking the cycle, and emphasizes the concept of "the power of one more" to encourage continuous personal improvement.
So I want to talk about two things today. So one is breaking your bloodline. Does anybody understand what that means? So who in here, raise your hand. Who in here has family issues, whether it be attitude issues, drug issues, alcohol issues, just whatever issues. Who in here has a family like that? I think everybody here, right? So first, breaking the bloodline. So how you break your bloodline, you do the totally opposite. So if you know that your family member had alcohol problems, you don't drink alcohol. It's as simple as that. If you have smoking problems, attitude problems, vaping problems, whatever drug problems, whatever it may be, you have to break that bloodline. Because one day y' all are going to have kids, right? Y' all don't understand it right now. I have kids, y' all don't have kids. One day you will have kids. And you don't want your kids to grow up like your, your existing family. Your daddy, right, who's or your mama or whoever else has alcohol problems, drug problems. I dealt with that when I was a kid. My dad had drug problems. That's why I don't have a drug problem. My dad worked really hard, but I work harder. People that know me that y' all don't even know that comes to me every day that says, your dad would be proud. And I know that. So that's what keeps me going on, right? And the second thing I want to talk about is one more. Do y' all understand the power of one more? Do y' all understand what that means? So that came from Ed Milette. I personally had a sit down meeting with Ed Milette. He's a very, very wealthy person, very known person. So Ed Milette, he grew up with a dad that had an alcohol problem, right? So he told the story when his dad would come home, he knew if, when he put that key in that door, he could tell if his daddy was drunk or not. And if he was drunk, he knew to get his sister upstairs because there's going to be a problem. He didn't want his daddy to go to that cabinet. So one day his daddy got sick. And it was just the power of one more. He said, I'm going to stop drinking. I'm going to take one more day to stop drinking. And every day he did one more. I'm not drinking another day, one more day. So just like me, I don't stop. There's always one more day that I got to get better. I don't care what it is. I want y' all to say, I'm not going to be drinking. I'm not going to be vaping. I'm definitely going to go to the gym. I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to get one more rep in. I'm going to get one more step in. I got another day that I'm not taking a drink. I got another day that I'm going to spend with my family. It's always, remember one more. You can always do one more.
