This is a YouTube video titled "Do this before installing custom wheels" containing a single-speaker instructional guide recorded in July 2024. The speaker explains the importance of removing factory clips before installing aftermarket wheels to prevent wheel wobbling or detachment, demonstrating the tools and steps needed for the process.
All right? When it comes to putting custom wheels on your own vehicle or you have a shop doing it, let me show you one thing you must watch for. So after you take your factory wheels off, let me show you what to look for. All right? You see these little clips right here? You must take these little clips off if you're doing aftermarket wheels. Let me show you why. So on a factory wheel, where that little clip goes, it's cut out. But on an aftermarket wheel that's flush, there's no cut out for that little washer to go into. All right? So when you go to put that aftermarket wheel on there and you don't take these off, you got a pretty high chance of that wheel backing back off. So that's why factory puts that little space in there, so you don't have that issue. So when you put these aftermarket wheels on there, you're smushing that washer in between here. And if there's any kind of space that what, that thing will wobble, and it's going to make that wheel come off. So let me show you how to get these things off. All right? So there's only three tools. A flathead screwdriver, a pair of snips, and a hammer. All right, so what you're going to do first, put that flathead in between there. How you're going to proceed to tap that thing with a hammer. All right, now pull that down. All right?
