How not to break a tire sensor #automobile #howto

Mike Melton shows how to mount and dismount a tire without breaking the tire pressure sensor. Keep tools away from the sensor, position the dismounting arm carefully, and lube the bead so the tire slides over the sensor without damage.

This is how you break a tire bead. So you're gonna go right here, we're gonna break that bead. You're gonna make sure you stay away from that sensor. That way you don't break it. Flip it around. We're gonna go to the other side, same way, make our sensors out of the way. We're gonna break that back bead just like that. Now when we take the arm that's gonna dismount that tire, we're gonna place that sensor directly up under there. That way when you pull that tire, you're not gonna break that center. And we're gonna show you. So now you see when he pulled it around, you're not going to break that sensor at all. So he's going to bring it back around. Now watch this. When he puts that bar in there. Now I'm gonna come up here and do it. Do an under part. Go ahead. So look, he's bringing that bar up. Look where that sensor is. Go ahead. You'll never ever break a sensor doing that. Right now what we're going to do a lot of places, do not change these valve stems. You have to change the stems. He's going to take the sensor off of here and and we're going to put a new valve in there. Alright, now we got that new valve stem in there, sensor reconnected. What we're doing now is lubing up the bead. What that's going to keep from happening. When you go to mount that tire, you're not going to tear that bead. Right now he's placing this tire to where when he mounts the tire, it's going to fall over that sensor. So watch. Go ahead. So now watch this. The tire is going to fall right over that sensor. There's no way to ever break it. Now he's going to reposition that sensor over here. Now watch. Go ahead. So now as the tire gets mounted, the tire is going to fall right over that sensor. You'll never ever break a sensor doing that.
