Mike Melton balances a Lexus with Michelin Latitude Tour HP tires that two other shops couldn't fix. He uses a road-force balancer and bead-massaging to bring one tire down from 36 pounds of road force to 18, and gets wheels that were over 2 oz out of balance back within spec.

For all the guys who said the road force machine and massaging the beads all just bull crap, well, that's why your business ain't good. This guy brought his Lexus all the way up from Atlanta. So he said nobody can balance these tires out. So these ain't no cheap tires. These are Michelin Latitude tour hps. As you can see, it's a brand new tire. No cupping or anything like that on there. You see how all the other tires brand new. So we went to one tire shop. They couldn't do it where he was in Atlanta. Even went to the dealership, had them rebalance. They can't get them right. So let's see what's going on. So that's one of the reasons people drive so far, because we fix stuff people can't. So let's see what's going on with them. All right. We like to check other people's work first. So there's one weight right there, another weight right there. So let's go ahead and spin it and see if it's off at all. All right, rollers coming off. So we're right here. It's off an ounce and a quarter. So that'll definitely make it vibrate. So that's one reason these people don't know what the hell they're doing. So now let's scrape all their weight off. Let's redo it the right way. And now we snatched all the weight off. Let's do it our way. Rollers on. What was coming off where we at? So we're out at half ounce here, three quarters of an ounce here. Now we're under the limits. We're all green. So every one of these tires was announced over, over 2 ounces of weight off and balance. Now there's only one that needed to be force matched. So that's what he's doing right now. He's force matching the tire. He's going to put these two lines together. That way we're going to give him a better balance and get that radial run out of this tire. So now after he seats his beam, we're going to massage the beads and we're going to rebalance this thing. This thing had 36 pounds of force, and it said it could not be repaired. But we go the extra mile and we're gonna see if we can't get this lower. Now when you massage a bead, this is what you do. You're getting any kind of air trapped in between the bead of the tire and the bead of the wheel. That reduces that radial run out. All right, this is the one that had the high road force. We got the roller on. We're not gonna cut it. We're gonna edit. Let's see if we fix that or not. The machine said it could not be repaired. Like I said, we go the extra mile. So it's calling for an ounce and a half here. Remember I told you it was, what, 36 pounds of force of four? Got it down to 18. So a lot of you guys that have the shops. Listen, just because you can change tires doesn't mean that you still understand the business. You understand how to get customers. I can show you how to do that. All you got to do is DM me. I got your back.
