In this instructional video, Mike Melton of Speedy Tire in Lincolnton, NC, outlines six concrete strategies for increasing tire sales at an independent shop. He begins with the importance of effective marketing, emphasizing an active in‑house social‑media presence rather than outsourcing to generic agencies. He then stresses the need for a clean, professional shop appearance to convey credibility. Next, he advises greeting every customer within three seconds, using a personal handshake and name exchange. He moves on to handling common objections (price concerns, need to consult a spouse) by preparing rebuttals. The fifth point covers telephone etiquette, urging staff to answer calls with a friendly script, capture the caller’s name, and ask targeted questions. Finally, he closes with a direct call‑to‑action, inviting viewers to text his number for personal training. The overall message is that disciplined marketing, presentation, and customer‑service habits drive higher tire sales.

In this video, I'm going to show you exactly how to sell more tires at your tire shop. So I'm Mike with Speedy in Lincolnton, North Carolina, and we sell a lot of tires. So number 1 is marketing. Marketing is one of your top things in order to get customers in. So let me ask you a question. How is your social media? And a lot of you are going to say, well, I really don't have social media, or I have a Facebook or I have an Instagram where I really don't post that much. That's your problem. Or you hire a marketing company and they don't know anything about you. They don't know anything about your customers. You're just dumping money into these places and you're losing all your money. Hire somebody in-house to do your marketing, whether it be you. I suggest it be you. All right. 2, looks. When somebody walks in your door, how does everybody look? Are they clean? Do they look professional? Is your place clean? Is everything clean in your place? Does everything have a place for it? Is it all junky? You have to look the part of a professional place or they're going to leave your ass. All right. Number 3 is greeting. When that customer walks in the door, you need to greet that customer within the first 3 seconds. I don't care if you're on the phone. I don't care if you're talking to another customer. When that customer walks in the door, just acknowledge them. Say, hey, I'm with somebody. I'll be right with you in just a couple of minutes. Okay. Greet that customer. Another way, if you aren't with a customer, you come around your counter. Don't just stand behind the counter. You come and shake their hand, get their name, give them your name, and see exactly what they're looking for in a professional manner. This is what a lot of y'all don't do. All right. 4 is your objections. Customers are always going to give you an objection like, oh, I'm just checking around. I need to talk to my wife about it. I think it's too much. You guys You need to know exactly how to overcome objections. All right. Number 5 is telephones. Listen, y'all have to be good on the phones. You have to be a sniper on the phones. You have to know exactly what that customer is looking for. You have to ask the right questions when they're calling about tires. You need to greet that customer on the phone like they've never been greeted before. Now, one thing that we do, We answer the phone. Hope you're having a wonderful day. This is Mike speaking. How can I serve you today? All right, cool. They're gonna tell you what they want. All right, make sure that you're getting their name. When you get their name, that is the most important part of building that relationship. Now, if you want to start selling more tires, all you gotta do is train with me. Give me a text, 704-617-7848.
