This is a YouTube video titled "How to spoke balance a custom wheel" containing a detailed instructional monologue recorded on June 14, 2024, explaining the process of balancing a custom wheel by placing weights behind the spokes to achieve proper balance. The content is a single-speaker tutorial focused on wheel balancing techniques.
A lot of shops don't know how to balance wheels like this, where the lip comes all the way back. Let me show you. All right, so we spun the wheel, let's call it, for an ounce and three quarters right here on the inside. So right now it's calling for the weight to go right here where that dot is. See where that dot is? You can't put the weight right there because that's the front part of the wheel. So now what you got to do, you got to hide it behind these spokes. So I'm about to show you how to do that. So on the bouncer, you just hit spokes, and we're going to enter the spokes first. We're going to line up that line the first spoke. Then we're going to rotate the wheel. We're going to line it behind that. All right, now that we got the spoke set up, let's call it for a quarter right here, right behind that spoke. Now that we got that on, let's spin it. All right, now that we spun it, we zeroed that out. Now we're going to tackle this two and a half ounces right here, and it's common for right here, so we don't have any spoke issues here. All right, now everything's zeroed out. This thing is perfectly balanced. We got two and three, two and a half ounces here, and then we got that quarter right there behind that spoke. See, before it called for here, you can't put here, that's the front part of the wheel. It's got to be behind that spoke.
