This is a YouTube video titled "January 21, 2025" containing a single-speaker explanation about the meaning of red and yellow dots on tires, discussing how to align them properly to reduce vibration and improve wheel balance. The content is technical and instructional, aimed at helping viewers understand tire markings and improve customer satisfaction.
You ever wonder what these yellow or red dots mean on the side of your tires? Like, some of them have red and yellow, or some just have red, some just have yellow. So, like this one just has yellow, that one has yellow and red, and then this Cooper only has a red. Let's talk about this. So this red dot on the tire means this, the part on the tire that's the maximum part of the radial force which causes vibration. So a lot of times you want to match this up to the part on the wheel that the manufacturer puts on the wheel to line these up. So you reduce that amount of radial vibration. Now, if you don't have that red dot, you're gonna. Your secondary one is gonna be this yellow dot. You're gonna want to mount that up and align it with that valve stem. That way it reduces the amount of radial run out and wheel hop is what some people call it. And the vibration is going to cause in your car. Now, if the yellow dot ain't there, you're going to match it up with the red dot. So it's vice versa. So if it doesn't have one or the other, match that up. That's going to help you get the best balance on that wheel and tire assembly. And that way you reduce the amount of comebacks you get for your customers, and you're going to make your customers happy at the end of the day.
