This is a YouTube video titled "January 7, 2025" containing a single-speaker review and demonstration of Nitto Ridge tires' performance in snowy conditions. The speaker tests the tires on a mountain, discusses their traction on snow versus ice, explains tire features like sipes, and compares them to the Nitto G3 tire for snow use.
So a lot of people say these Nitto Ridge grapplers are not any good in the snow. Well, let's go test them out. So as you see your snow all over the ground, we're up in the top of the mountain. So let's come on down the mountain, see how it goes. All right, so we made it down the mountain. Let me give you my review on these tires. All right, so I'm score these a seven and a half out of ten as far as, like, snow traction goes. All right, so as we're coming through the mountain, we got to go up the mountain, up hills, down hills, curves, stuff like that. There was a couple sketchy spots. Now, so sketchy spots were like ice, but as far as snow itself, the treble, I just cleaned out the snow. No problem. Nothing got stuck in there. So we still had traction in the snow. But as far as ice, they're not ice tires. You need studs for ice. Now, we had a couple slips. Like I said, it was just ice, not the snow. Now let me show you why this tire doesn't do as good, like, say, as the Nitto G3. All right? For one, there is some siping in this tire, but not as much as the Nitto G3. So for the people that don't know what sipes are, let me show you. So all these little cuts in the tire in the tread box, those are called sipes. Now, what sipes does, it gives you that extra bite nail edge as far as wet traction and snow traction, stuff like that. So definitely, if you're looking for a snow tire, get the G3 over the niddo Ridge.
