Mike Melton installs Kenda Clever RT tires on a truck and explains why they work: the right size, studdable for winter, and they look better than thin tires stretched over big wheels. He also shows how to balance the wheel properly.
This right here is what tires should look like on trucks. So this is what a lot of stuff we used to like. Bigger tires, smaller wheels. So he's had these on there for a good little while. They cracking up real bad. Now here's the tire he's going with. This is the Kenda Clever rt. So he chose to go with this tire because he likes the way it looks for one, and for the size he has, it's the best to go with. So if you've never seen this Kenda tire, that's what it looks like on the sidewall. If you are up north, you worried about snow and ice. They are studdable too. So you wanted to get rid of the mud tire because it's too loud for them. Went with an RT tire. Sidewalls on them are a little different. On this side, you got the raised black letters. This side, they ain't raised at all. Now, before we put these things on, let's go ahead and balance them out, see how good they do. Then I'm going to show you what they look like on this truck. Now, normally you would put a weight here and a weight out here to dynamically balance his wheels, but the guy don't want any face wheel weights, and I wouldn't either. Now, this wheel, we're not going to be able to dynamically balance it because if you try to put a weight here and a weight here, it it's too close. There's not enough room in between the two planes. So you're gonna have to static balance this wheel. It's gonna be the best way to do this one. Now let's go ahead and balance these things out. Now we got it rolling. Roller's about to come on. Right, Roller's coming off. Let's see where we at. It's called for 4 ounces of weight right there in the center. We only got 26 pounds of force. Now let's show you what these things gonna look like on the truck. All right, now here's the end result after putting these Kendas on there. Now you see a lot bigger tire, smaller wheel. I think it looks a lot better than the rubber band tires.
