Mike Melton of Speedy Tire explains that donut spares are temporary only. Keep speed under 50 mph, drive straight to a repair shop, and never use one for more than a few days. Check the limits printed on the spare itself.
That little spare donut, it ain't made to get you through the week. It's made to get you out of trouble, and that's it. Most of y'all need to stay under 50 miles an hour driving on it, and you only need to drive as far as you need to get that thing fixed. I'm Mike Melton with Speedy Tire in Lincolnton, North Carolina. Don't you run 80 down the highway. Don't drive on it for 3 days. Look at that thing writing on the spare. It tells you its limits. Slow down, get the tire fixed, then put that daggum donut back in that truck after it's done.
