When I was 8 years old, most kids were in the damn bed sleeping on Saturday mornings, but not me. I was changing tires. I'd get up with my dad, go in before the damn sun came up, and as a kid, I thought we were just fixing tires. But when I realized as a man, we were taking care of other people's families. This taught me something that he never thought he would actually teach me, but I was watching everything. Being a man isn't about talking tough. It's about showing up when you're tired, working when nobody's watching, and being responsible without getting any applause from anybody. That's where I learned what work really looks like.
