This is a YouTube video titled "Locking Lugnut Issues" containing a monologue or talk recorded in late 2024 discussing the practical problems with locking lug nuts on truck wheels, advising viewers on why they may be ineffective and suggesting alternatives to prevent wheel theft.
Listen, have you ever got a flat on your truck and you look around 1, 2 and then you see there's a lock in there? Well, all manufacturers give you a key for it. But these keys right here are really, really easy to damage. So if this ever gets damaged, you ain't gonna be able to get that off right there. And if you can't get that one off, you're gonna have to pay somebody to try to weld something on there to get it off. Or you, you're gonna wind up damaging your wheel at the same time. So basically these things are pointless. And the reason being I can sit here and put a socket on here and get that right off. I can buy a lug nut remover. So if you think this right here is going to keep somebody from standing wheels, think again. This is what this is another thing I recommend. So when you're lock set, you always going to have a factory lug nut. I recommend taking those locks off because they're a pain in the butt. Especially if you lose your key. Put you a regular lug nut on there. Nobody is going to steal your wheels and if they want to steal them, they can steal them. That is not going to keep it from getting stolen. So put your regular lug nut on there and it'll be done. You ain't got to worry about again, you ain't going to want to.
