In this video, Mike Melton compares the GripMax XT and GripMax MT tires, highlighting that both share the same sidewall design but differ in tread features. The XT includes extensive siping for superior wet traction and a quieter ride due to tighter shoulder blocks, while the MT has fewer sipes to better resist damage from stones and rocks, produces more road noise, and includes drilled holes for studs suitable for snowy conditions. Melton notes that tire longevity is highly variable, depending on driving habits and load, and concludes that both tires offer an inexpensive, well‑balanced option for drivers seeking good ride quality and value.

Go over the grip Max XT and the grip Max mt. So first we're going to go over grip Max xt. So come on by. So as you see, the sidewalls, not crazy aggressive. Both of them got the same exact sidewall on them. Now, the tread. Now the difference between this one and the empty is this one here is going to have better wet traction. And the reason for that, it's got a lot of different siping inside those tread blocks compared to the empty does not. Because you don't want the. The tread block to flex on the M, on the, on the mt, because you're going through stones, rocks, stuff like that, as it will. As far as this XT goes between the two tires, the MT is definitely going to be a louder tire and the XT is going to be a quieter tire. And the reason for that, if you look right here, see how much open those shoulders are compared to this one here, they're a lot closer. So that's what's going to help keep that road noise down. Another big difference between the MT and the xt, if you're up in, like, snow area, stuff like that, this one does have holes drilled within the tread blocks where you can actually put studs in. This one, now the XT does not. So if you're worried about that, then definitely go with the mt. Now, as far as how long these things are going to last, nobody knows because it all depends on you, how you drive, what you haul, stuff like that. There's a lot of variables in how long a tire is going to last, no matter the brand. Now, if you're looking for a tire that's inexpensive, but still a good tire, balances well, rides good, these are going to be the tires that you're going to want to go with.
