Mike Melton tests a Toyo MT mud tire on a dynamic balancer with 1,200 lb of simulated force. The 35×12.50‑20 tire shows only 8 lb of total imbalance, needing just a quarter-ounce weight on one side and an ounce-and-a-half on the other.

How good do these Toyo MTs balance out? Well, for one, these tires have been out forever. They haven't changed them. They hadn't needed to change them because they're so damn good. Now, before we balance these things out, what we're going to do, we're going to take that damn sticker off right there. Snatch her off of there. Make sure all the wheel weights are off. Now we're going to go ahead and set it up. It's already set up on LT limits. Road force is on. The hood down. You'll see that roller come down. We're going to roll her down. Here in a second, that roller is going to come down, put 1,200 pounds of force on top of that tire, simulating being driven on that vehicle. So what we're going to do is detect any kind of vibrations that may come out of the tire wheel assembly before it goes on the vehicle so we can fix it here. Look at that, we only got 8 pounds of force, quarter ounce here and ounce and a half here on a big 35x12.50-20 Toyo MT
