This is a Bad A$$ Jeep

Mike Melton runs a tire shop with four $35,000 Road Force balancers and a Hunter Maverick mounting machine. He tests tire pressure sensors before touching any vehicle, matches load range and brand to each customer instead of going cheap, and torques wheels in a star pattern followed by a circular pass.

Right now, what he's going to do, he's going to be testing the sensors before we touch the vehicle. Because you want to test them before you touch them, because once you touch them and say the light doesn't work right, then customer's going to say it's you did it. Okay, so make sure you touch this stuff. Make sure you're testing it before you touch it. It is very, very important. It's called CYA, cover your ass. All right, so as soon as we raise the vehicle like this one here, it's got the front raised. We don't have the rear raised yet. But once we do, we hit that timer, we time our bays. So this is how we do it. We got a truck or vehicle in each bay then, right? Say we fill them up, then we start lining them up outside ready to go for the next time. So one thing with our company, we use the absolute best equipment. You can't cheap out on equipment. A lot of companies do. Road Force balancer, we have 4 of these things. These things are about $35,000 apiece. There's a lot of people out here just say you can't afford them. Listen, how can you not afford them? I would get them in there, we get them pulled. What they do, they got to double check and make sure we got the right tires, right load range, right brand, right size, and everything that goes for that vehicle. You never want to put the wrong tires or right or wrong load range on a truck. A lot of tire shops out here try to sell like, you know, all your cheaper stuff and they think that's what customers want, man. Man, listen, customers don't always want the damn cheapest stuff. You need to make sure you're qualifying the customer, see what the customer needs. That's like, you know, a customer just going to the cheapest car dealership. That's not what they want. They want something that's going to fit their needs, ride the best, you know, feel comfortable, have all these little gadgets to it. Now most of y'all shops got chaos. Look, we got organized chaos. Organized. No fighting. Just like that video I showed at Walmart, right? The lady was complaining about the damn workers fighting with each other. Don't ever, ever— if anybody ever fights in my place, they are fired instantly. I don't care who started it. Now, the most brands that we do is obviously like the Nitto's. These are the Nitto Mud Graps. These are the Toyo AT3s. We do a lot of the Nitto G3s. You know, we do a lot, you know, a lot of like Summit tires too. So the Summit tires are an affordable tire where people just don't have the extra money, which, you know, there's a lot of people that don't have it. It's okay. Not everybody can afford the Nitto or the Toyo, but you know, just get something that's gonna be good. If you're not sure what kind of tire that's good for you, just put it in the comments and I'll see if I can't answer that question for you. Make sure you like and subscribe the video. Now let's get back to the video. See, they just talking about teamwork. It's all it is. You got to make sure your people communicate. We got Sean over here, he's dismounting the tire using the Maverick, the Hunter Maverick touchless machine. So it ain't got no jaws on it, center clamp right there, so you ain't going to tear no machine up. You going to use that bottom roller, you going to roll that thing off. You ain't got to worry about no bars touching the machine or touching the wheel, scratching the wheel. Look at that, you can roll it right off. There you go, easy as that. What he's doing right now is he's taking the sensor off and he's going to rebuild it. He's going to rebuild that sensor with a new stem. So a lot of tire people, they skip that step. Okay. What they do, they just going to throw a damn tire on there and let that son of a gun ride. Make sure they put you some new stems in there. You want a low-cost tire that looks pretty good. It's a good tire. It's aggressive looking. Go with the Summit RT. I come to work and I go to war every day with my competition. I think he's pretty good at mounting tires. Watch this thing. Look, look, he ain't even gonna sweat. I don't even need to give him a napkin. Watch him. I know the haters going to say, man, I could have done that 40 times, man. Look at that right there, we done. All right, now sometimes you got a big old gap in there, so we're going to show you how to fix that. The way he's going to use is a mini bazooka. He going to put it in there, he going to inflate that tire. Watch out. 3, 2, 1. Oh man, he messed up. He going to do it again. Damn tires weigh more than his ass does. Looks like we got a set of 35s going on this GMC right here. Let me Let me, uh, show you what we got going on there. All right, so what he's doing, he's double checking, make sure everything's right. He's going, he's going to make sure he's got the right size. He's going to make sure he's got the, uh, the right serial number and the right tire. So right here we're going to do the GripMax MT. Right here he's doing a set of Nitto G3s right here. Let me show you how this thing zeroed out. Look at that, 7, 7 lbs of road force on this damn— oh, what is that, a 285/50/22? 285/50/22, calling for 7 pounds of force. Man, I'm gonna tell you what, what are they gonna do? They gonna ride better than a damn Cadillac. I just told this guy, this right here is my lie detector. He just told me he's tracking his food every day, and then he just said, oh well, you know, my girl just made it so I didn't track it. Well, that's why I said I got my damn lie detector on. He's a damn liar. Do you say I got the exact— what did you say? Get— come on, give us an excuse. Give us a damn lie. Look, he won't say nothing. Nice, quiet. The amount of weight— hold on, don't scrape that off. Look at— look at the damn amount of weight somebody did on this one. That's crazy as hell. So before we go to the mounters, we're gonna go ahead and de-uh, de-weight all the— all the old wheels. Now these are some big old— what are they, 46s? These are the big 46s, Mickey Thompson, that we did. Y'all wanted to see them on the Jeep. Now all we did was mount them. But that's them on the Jeep. That's bad as hell right there. Staying busy every Friday, brother. Not only on Friday, Monday through Friday. We are closed on— ah, dog, I done dropped it on my shoulder. We're closed on the weekends. We got another All4 right here, so we doing some, uh, some Toyo tires on it, the Toyo Celsius. So if you're not with us, you're not sure what that tire looks like, let me show you what that Celsius looks like. So that's a Toyo Celsius. So it's for a lot of your, your colder climates. And you see all that siping in there? That right there is going to give you some hella fire wet traction. Now one thing people don't understand about tires is this has got a different section of tread here, different section of tread here. That means it's asymmetrical. That means it's got an inside mounting area and an outside mounting area. We're going to go ahead and road force this thing. All right, he done took the damn sticker off, so I can't do that. So let's go ahead and do this. Of course, we're not going to cut it, we're not going to edit, none of that. You see it's still rolling here. In a second, that roller coming down— you see the roller down there, right there? All right, now here in a second, that's going to come off. Right now it's putting 1,200 lbs of force on it, check for anything that's going to vibrate. The hell happened there, brother? All right, we got it all. Now that thing's called for 250 here, half ounce here, and only 10 lbs of force. So what's that going to do? It's going to ride like a damn Cadillac, son. We got this Dodge over here. Let's see, he's got the Maxxis AT right here that's coming off. Now, on a light-duty truck they last, right? But on a heavy-duty truck, everybody, they don't like them. Some people said they last, but majority people say they wear out about 35,000. So I don't recommend going with the Maxxis AT if you got a heavy-duty truck. Now, what he's going with now is going to be the Toyo AT3, okay? What size is this damn tire? 285/55/22 Toyo AT3s. They're definitely going to ride a lot better, they're going to be quieter, and they're going to give him better wet traction for this truck. So that's exactly what he's looking for. This customer here with this Ford, he got him the, uh, Summit AT02s. So he didn't want to spend as much money, but that's still a good tire. So if you're looking for a good tire that you ain't gonna spend a lot of money on, go with the Summit ATO2. That's exactly what it is. He ain't sure what the tire looks like. That's what that looks like right there. I was trying to carry one damn tire and roll it over here in the damn tire dump. I said, man, be a damn man, grab all damn three. All right, we got him dismounting old tire over here. Let's see what he does. I want y'all to critique him now. I want these tire experts to critique this guy right here. Oh man, that guy don't know what he's doing. Show these guys. There's going to be a lot of haters in there. What you got to say to the haters? Haters just fuel the energy to keep going. That's right, baby. Hey, haters are like E85 to my damn Ferrari, son. All it does is make it go faster. Look at that right there. Everybody's like, man, that guy's slow. That guy's slow right there. Well, who cares what you think? That's one thing that a lot of shops don't do. Now you're going to go and torque, right? You go to torque in a star pattern, and then after you do your star pattern, you're going to go in a circle. That way you know you haven't missed no lug nuts and you ain't going to have no wheels come off. That down. So right here, look right here, speedysupplyco.com. We got our own damn tire shop. Speedysupplyco.com. All right, he's applying. Look at that right there, woman. Well, that thing's shining more than a diamond, baby. And now we got that one to get out, this one to get out, that one to get out. This was ready to be pulled in, and we got a truck right there ready to be pulled in. Told you we stay busy. If your shop ain't this busy, all you got to do is hire me, brother. Get on my coaching, I'll show you exactly how to do it. All right, I'm getting the hell out of here. I'm going home. So make sure y'all subscribe to my channel. Like the video, go watch all the other videos, man.
