This is a YouTube video titled "What’s it take to open A Tire Store" containing a detailed monologue by a single speaker explaining the costs and equipment involved in opening and operating a tire store, including building purchase, machinery, inventory, and payroll expenses. The speaker shares personal experience and advice on starting a tire business.
What does it take to open a tire store? Well, I'm gonna tell you what it took to open mine and I'll let you know what it takes to open other ones. All right, so to start, this is the building that I bought in Lincolnton, North Carolina. All right, so this building right here is 7, 000 square foot. So we got bay areas, we got showroom, and we got a warehouse in the back. All right, so when I got this building, I had to gut everything. So it cost me a little over 400000 to rehab this whole building. All right, so there's a rim clamp machine. These are right roughly around 8, 000 a piece. I got three of those. All right, now this is the best of the best. This is a tough machine. This One right is around 32, 000. We keep you safe. These are roughly around 700 a piece. We got three of those. These are inflations centers. So these are at around 1200 a piece. And I roughly got around six of these. All right, this is the road force machines. We got three of these. These are roughly around 22, 000 with all the accessories. And I got three of them. And I got pad lifts. These are roughly around 7,000 a piece. And I got three of them. All right, the lights throughout the whole building. These are roughly around $15,000. That's not even including the insulation. We got a tire patch station. I think this is roughly around 6 or 700 for this right here. Of course we got, you know, the guns, the tool socket, stuff like that. So figure around another five grand for all your tools. So your biggest expense is inventory. So if you don't have inventory, you're not going to sell nowhere near as many tires. And we roughly keep around 150 to $200,000 just in inventory, in stock at all times. That's one of your biggest expenses is these guys right here. You got to invest in these guys right here. My Payroll is about 10,000 a week. Wheel weights, these are boxes and boxes of just stick on wheel weights right here. That's a lot. That's about 30 grand in inventory right there. Not including lug kids. All right, you got to have an air compressor. We don't cheap out on nothing. This is about a twelve thousand dollar air compressor. This is what most dealerships and stuff use. So as you see, I spared no expense when it comes to opening my tire shop. So you don't have to spend as much of that. Like you don't even have to buy the building. Right so you can go in there, rent a building for whatever it costs. I mean, with tire machines and stuff like that, you can probably open a store around $50,000. But if you want to do it my way, it's going to cost you a lot more. Now, when it comes to other stores, you know, say you got some bigger stores, you know, like your discounts and stuff like that. Theirs is a little bit more, you know, because they go and build it up from the ground up. You know, they, they. It's just a lot bigger building. They just got more expenses.
