A look at the 2019 Ford F150 Platinum and why Ford chose a turbocharged V6 EcoBoost engine over a V8. The speaker walks through the truck's features, from air fresheners to lights and tires, while questioning Ford's engine decision.
One of my guys has got him a brand new truck. Well, it's brand new to him. It's a 2019 F150 Platinum. Man, that thing got a moonroof. That thing goes all the way back. A little messy right now, but he's got a little platinum leather in there. One of the things I asked him, see that, all that right there? It's a bunch of old air fresheners. I was like, man, did they leave those in there? He took them out of his other truck. They're older than hell. Why would you put them in there? Answer that question. Why would you put your old air fresheners in there? Bud? He's got a couple switches on there. This is for the rock lights. He said. Hell, I don't even know what that's for. All right. You working at a tire store and your lights on. What's going on, bud? All right, so why is the tire pressure light on? Cuz he kicked the rear. He's over messing with his truck. What are you doing? All right, we definitely got to get these tires over there. He got us some old land spiders. He's already got him a good lift on there. So I'm not sure if he's going to put some different wheels on there or not, but I'm not sure. Why Ford? Why did ford put v6s in these things with a turbo? I. I can understand a turbo because it's got to have enough power to pull this truck. But why put a V6? Ford explain that. Or anybody that works at the Ford or sells these Fords explain why they put the V6 in these trucks.
